Basically, I used to date this guy. Years ago. He was really into pot at the time but to the point where he relied on it, it was his love and nobody else was important to him.

I didn't see him for years and recently ran into him. I hoped he was better but he seems to be worse. He is still into the pot but I am wondering if it is something else.

He disappears for days without a word, hes paranoid all the time, his skin is really pale and dark circles under his eyes and he picks at the skin under his fingernails.
I'm worried sick. I care so much for this boy but I don't think there is anything I can do for him. He pushes me away.

I don't know if its just pot hes using or if its something else. And I don't know if there is anything I can do to help him.

If you're willing and ready to get emotionally involved, just bump into him again and ask if he wants to hang out. Then when you're catching up with him you can just point out that he's not looking too great and you're worried.

hes probably taking hard drugs. Don't pour your heart into him. But dont necessarily lose hope.

i cant really imagine what it means to pick at the skin under your fingernails though. do you mean he cleans them way too often and cuts them way to infrequently, or what?
