I confess i have never had a job before, and probably never will.

I just don't want one. I know probably everyone feels that way, cause work sucks. but i wouldn't cause i never worked.

i'd like to find a way to make income without a boss and going somehwere taking up to a third of my day outta my time.

i dont have reallly an career ambitions in particular im not interested in much things, just like chilllin music playin a lil guitar and just having a good time. i hate havin a scedhule to go by.

haha. everyone probably just wants to chill al lday but. i guess i the opoint of this thread is to say.

i've never had a job, never will, and i would like to find a way to make money without one. not illegal ways. just a way to run my own money and shit.

your just 17 and, i turn 52 on the 17th. of this month. when i was 17, i did not know jack shit about what to do ,or where to go with my life. there are a few people who do know where there going at 17 but, they are only about 2% of the population; the rest of us just fumble along, untill we find something that is "bareable" for making a living; for most people it feels more like "making a dying" for the next 40, or so years of their lives.

if you want to do something to get your 'daily bread' your going to have to answer 3 questions:

    1. what do you want to do?

    2. where do you find it?

    3. how do you get it?

the tools are out there for this. it is no secert at all. you can find them in any bookstore and/or libaray.
in my experence most people don't have the motivation to this through or, they are held back by fear or, they expect someone to rescue them.

you don't sound like your despeate and hurting bad enough yet to make your life work yet.

Don't forget that a lot of small business, even from home, will have some startup costs involved.

shit man. i know. gotta have money to make it.

yah man, i realise alot of people my age dont know what they are doin. but i see like al these kids who got good grades and shit and going to college next fall.

me im behind and am not even close to getting any kinda college.

i like music alot. i relaly do, i like the sounds and shit peple make in rap or in techo. id like to make sounds like that for alivng.

also play some guitar, like that to.

and i just like thining about life man, like philosophy and psychology.

maybe something in those fields. just dont know what to do to go about it. but i dont think that there are careers in those things. i mean making it as a musicain would be hard and writing books about psychology and philsophy would not get any money.

maybe i shoulnd't even worry about it. fuck it. im just gonna life my life i guess. music, and my thoughts and writing. who cares about being rich.

well. i've tried to get a job a few times actually.

i fuckin fill out the app, put references fuckin get all showered the fuck up and dress decent and go down there.

got a couple interviews. i fuckin be polite and damn look nice and shit.

then i end up calling them back every few days to see what the deal is.

uh yeah were busy, which i understand. then they keep saying they'll get back to me. they never do.

every app i turn in. 5 other people besides me will get hired there.

i just get frustrated fuckin with it. id like to have some money in my pocket but damn i guess no one wil hire nme. shit pisses me off.

fuck that is really what pisses me off i goto places and give a soid effort to get hired. then they always fuckin dont get back to me and flakey with cals and shit and hire everyone besides me.

ive ran my own ebay/Ioffer business a few times..
and in no way, is it harder then working for someone.. lol whoever says that is dumb :)

you make your own hours, you sell what you want, over-time you meet new people that can get you better deals, and you make commissions and profits.. most profitable thing i found.. Game hardware and BATTERIES :>

you get frustrated fuckin with it..? think of the people who actually get up and do go to work.. think your the only one? like most people, unless you are spoiled, you need money to survive in this world today lol... thats the way the world works, i suggest opening your door, and coming into reality..

and a real solid effort, would be going and not giving up because a few places didnt hire you.. best idea would be to get an education, and get a job you enjoy doing lol

It is hard finding that first job because you have no experiance for them to base your character on. There is a fairly simple trick to this though. Don't go after one job at a time, wait for one reply at a time. Instead hand in your resume to a ton of places, try for thirty in one week, you'll probably get 10 interviews. So there you've already increased your chances x10 but probably even more so if the employer notices you're putting that much effort into becoming employed.

Also don't take it personally if they don't hire you just keep moving.

Exactly, the 1st job is the hardest to get, let alone in an economy that has been losing jobs for months on end.

Yea, you're still pretty young...eventually, depending on whether or not you live in a city (society) you'll have to get a job, unless you want to be camped out ("homeless").

I had to work basically since I was in middle school, haven't held an actual "job" in almost a year now, due to my knees mainly...but I agree with you, for the most part jobs are bullshit. It's sad though, because most people are "job locked" as they need money to buy food, water, housing etc...and they are therefore willing to take any job they can get. On top of that the benefits (ie. insurance) often keep people locked to a certain job as well, because they need them. 99% of all jobs in an industrialized society suck, or are extremely repetitive and for lack of better work "boring".

I hate having a set "schedule" as well, and in this day and age people have some very fucked up views on those who don't maintain a schedule or a job. They feel that if you have neither you're just some lazy piece of shit that does nothing. Albiet there are lots of people who are lazy etc..., but take me for example, well at least when I have somewhat healthy legs. I cannot stand not doing anything, I LOVE being outside, talking with people, seeing things, experiencing life (the world)...but simply because I'm not holding a job and don't schedule my days people would wrongfully consider me "lazy" or some shit along those lines.

Maybe those people who wrongfully label those of us who actually do a lot with their days, but don't comply with their social "norms" are simply jealous that their lives are so monotonous and repetitive. Or they just cannot comprehend difference...as we all know people fear what they do not know (the dark is a perfect example), so rather than trying to understand it they just disregard that lifestyle and consider it to be something negative.

Just fake a previous job. If you're just applying at a local clothes retailer or fast food joint, they usually don't check resume's to be honest. Also, see if friends of yours have jobs and if they can put in a good word for you. A lot of times places won't be hiring but if you have a friend to get your foot in the door they may hire you anyways, just don't screw over the friend.

If your parents will pay for school, go to community college or something. through taking a variety of classes, you might find something you really like & career ambitions will come to you.

to make it on your own, you have to be extremely driven and work more intensely/longer than the average 9-5'er
