I recently buzzed my head with some of my friends because it was extremely hot out and we needed a change. I like it a lot but I'm missing my long hair. Also I can't seem to be growing the beard I really want, and I'm pretty much done with puberty. I thought about getting a bottle of Rogaine and using that, but I'm not sure if that's the best solution out there. Any tips?

rogaine is to combat pattern baldness, not a bad hair cut.
you'd be wasting your money. Long hair, like nice dreads, is a time commitment and lifestyle alteration.
as for the beard, vellus (body ) hair is different than the hair on our heads.
I know only one guy with an actual "full" beard. Most men have patches. Most pick a beard style that works around that, or they simply don't care.

    step 1 dont shave
step 2 dont be in a hurry
step 3 wait as long as it takes
step 4 enjoy your long hair again and commit to not shaving or cutting it off on a whim or cause the weather changed

only time will make hair grow

Don't worry about it. From my experience, the stubble on your face grows more with age, regardless of being in the midst of puberty or not.

I didn't get stubble outside of my upper lip until i was 18-19. Now things are looking pretty decent all over (i'm 20)

i take prenatal vitamins to speed up my hair growth (makes my fucking nails grow insanely fast too)

but maybe it's just cause i'm deficient in something, i dunno.

Beard thickness is to do with folicle spacing on your face, nothing you can do if it is patchy.

But if you're young give it some time.

I was shaving at 15/16 but couldn't grow a full beard till I was about 20

Some people never can, it's pot-luck that decides it really.

It doesn't mean you "failed" at puberty :p your hair folicles probably just aren't as closely spaced as others

Im 24 and still cant get the whole full beard thing going. Probably never will, but trust me were lucky. People that can grow full beards have to constantly work to keep from having one. I shave once every 3 days and im very thankful for that.

i'm 22 and i can't even grow a goatee. buddy of mine told me the other day his bro didn't grow in all his facial hair till he was 25 so if you're around my age, it's normal, just give it time. wouldn't recommend rogaine either unless you're like thirty or something...at 35 you'll end up looking like wolf man.

i second soraing eagle....you gotta be patient!

but, while you're waiting, why not dose up on foods high in the minerals that encourage hair growth?!

calcium & magnesium are the 2 most important minerals for hair growth....
so what about foods high in calcium: dairy, tofu, fish, nuts, brewer's yeast, beans, lentils and sesame seeds.
& those high in magnesium: green vegetables, wheat germ, whole grains, nuts, soy beans, chickpeas and fish
