Let's just hope that people will accept the decision and come together. It's time to rejoin and begin addressing the problems facing the nation.
McCain concedes! Obama first black President of the United States! A monumental point in American history.
I will be impressed when he shows what the promised "CHANGE" amounts to. I still haven't found out what change he represents other than skin colour.
arty:What a wonderful time to be alive...My mood is one of tempered optimism, because as historic as this occasion is, the next president must bear a burden of putting the brakes on an 8 year slide towards disaster. America has moved into the next era of it's life, and we must all join together at this moment to make sure that we honor this moment and move forward to create the change we voted for. He is only one man, and we must ALL come together in order to fulfill the promise of this moment.
His election is the only way the US can ever reestablish itself as thoughtful world power. Change is already in the air. There is a new sense of hope, unity and fairness. Plus, all the sleazy ads will be off the air now.
It was refreshing to see an election actually go without a hitch, with no question. Also cool to see the crowd in Chicago get together for Obama. The few people I have talked to seem to be happy at the outcome, and have a renewed sense of confidence, that once again this country may unite and heal itself. For the most part the dems AND repubs I've heard are looking forward to Obama leading this country in a new direction. It is also very cool to see some of the international reactions.
Obama is going to be our next President and I will stand behind him. We all need to refocus our energy and push forward. I don't think this country can afford any more infighting, and I hope the energy that Obama has inspired will now break party lines and allow Americans to do what they do best.
Maybe now our kids and grandkids can grow up in a more hopeful, unified climate. I am hoping so. I've grown really tired of all the negatives.
