These are good on a whole wheat bun with all the dressings!

    1/3 cup steel cut oats
    1/3 cup millet
    1/3 cup brown rice

    Cook in

    2 cups low-sodium broth.

    Combine with:

    1/3 cup wheat germ
    1/3 cup flax meal
    2-3 tablespoons soy flour
    1/2 cup split hemp seeds
(available in co-ops & health food stores)

    Add:

    1 beaten egg
chopped onion, mushroom and green pepper
    , to taste
2 good size handfuls of grated cheddar cheese

    Season to your liking with:

    garlic granules
    black pepper
    thyme
    Spike seasoning blend

and mix well. Wet hands, and form 3"-4" patties. Brown patties on both sides with

    olive oil

in batches if necessary. Add to the pan:

1 1/2 - 2 cups low sodium broth or vegetable stock
(optional) a couple of squirts of Bragg's liquid aminos

Simmer, turning once, until all liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes.

Serve on whole wheat buns with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.

    Makes about 9 patties.
