mine are done via a polish lady, so its an inter europe affair on my dreads , you right it is cool crocheted dreadies unite!
yessur, how long you had yours bro? and do you re-touch them or blunt the tips using a crochet needle?
thanks 8) blunted the tips a while back and did a retouch also so the fuzz you see in the pics are minimal. but most of the time im pretty unhappy with the fuzz.
i never said they WILL FALL OFF ontly that crochetting is dammaging..and if over used it certainly can make them break.. theyre still young and short, not alottta weight yet not alotta strain and only been crochetted alittle when loose..but..crochetting does cause new natural growrh to look doifferent from crochetted somany who crochet go on crochetting till the dammage isds prety advanced and the dreads quite weak.. i never saifd theyd fall off because u crochetted i said if you go on crohetting theres a chance they will break much easier.. but in a wayu you many lucky..mine are stronger then my neck so if some sorta distarter struck and they got tied to a buds or something my neck would break begore my dreads..having perforated weak points could be an advantage if you work with machinery or anrtime your un danger of having them tangled i anytthing that could rip your head off
no need to be all defensive meng, i wasnt referring to you i totally agree with you about having weaker dreads than people with natural ones and i got love and respect for you even though you can be rude sometimes I also agree that the new growth is gonna look different from the older ones so I guess I have a choice to make to either keep crocheting or just let the new growth dread up naturally. like i said, i had my hair crocheted before i found this forum. if i found the forums before i got dreads then i most defenitely would have natural dreads. its just bad luck that i saw the knottyboy vid on youtube before i found this forum. but still, I love my dreads.
ya know, I started with crocheted dreads also. the new parts definitely look different than the old ones, but I will keep them in remembrance of the time when I did decided to knot up my hair.
I've had mine for 11 months, I haven't done anything to them maintenance wise since i had them done, they have had free reign for 11 months , the tips are already rounded, and have pretty much stayed like it... i've contemplated using a crochet needle, but so far have resisted lol
that makes me wonder if there are other ways to crochet your dreads. a few days after i had mine done i had a bunch of fuzz and was thinking about having it re-touched after a week and managed to resist until recently. the tips were coming undone as well. but you obviously didnt have the same crappy experience and your dreads remained tight. thats pretty good work by the polish lady if you ask me.
