Hey guys. I'm pretty young (14). Will trying peyote be bad for me?

    I vote yes. Too young.

  4. Yeah, it is a very intense experience, you'd more than likely appreciate it much more when you're older.

Read the reports on Erowid, maybe you are ready, but 14 is awfully young in my opinion..

    Peace :)

Yes. Psychedelics are well known to potentiate latent mental illnesses. While you may or may not have latent emotional problems or any potential for mental problems, the fact that you are young means your mind (superior to and more powerful than an older person) is still growing and forming and in its raw power is intensely sensitive and reactive. Give your mind a chance to finish growing; then choose the experiences that are right for you. Psychedelics too young have a distinct risk of losing your inborn potential; they change who you are...

Dont change who you are, till you discover who you are...only then can you incorporate this kind of experience...

This is true. I only wish I had done as you say.

Anywhoo, I am going out to the southwest soon. I am wondering if I can find psychotropic cacti growing wild in the desert very easily. I have been flirting with the idea of trying Peyoti for a while now. I just want to get the dose right.

i doubt you would have much luck. peyote grows in very restricted habitats in the US, most of which are on private property now. just going to the "southwest" isn't going to cut it, it only grows in areas of texas and NM close to the border. your best bet is to stick to San Pedros, leave the peyote alone. its already endangered.
