I was lucky enough to catch Tommy Emmanuel live a few months back. He played in the back room of a pub to about 40 people and it was unreal. Just an acoustic guitar and he could compete with any of them shredders and even Hendrix for sheer technique. He was using feedback and he would drum on the wood of the guitar to create really cool sounds....like a jungle, or a storm.. He's out on his own, and the only way for someone to understand my post would be to catch him live themselves.
And that I have as well... I took a clinic which featured him and Stephen Bennett this year. He's a private clinician... he doesn't endorse anyone besides Maton... unlike people such as Steven King, Doyle Dykes, and Leo Kottke do with Taylor... well, Kottke isn't a clinician, but the other two are... he does a few clinics with Mark Hanson as well... he's awesome.
