All the squash plants at the community garden a block away are zapped. Mine had floating row covers on them and are as vital as ever. And the temps are going to stay decent for a while. Sweet! We got down to 27 last night, so before bed I sprayed down the garden to make the row covers "settle" and prevent hoarfrost. I'm definitely using these babies in the spring.
bad news: while I was on the road, my wife went under the row cover for some squash, and didn't put the row cover back properly. A stiff breeze came and blew them open, and my squashes are dead.
seriously :[ ohh noooo im sorrryy well its okay you can start all over again and see them turn into squash :]
It's November, it's time. Even with the row covers with the shortening days they would have stopped producing. To everything there is a season, unless you can provide artifical light and heating. But you can use them in the spring to give things an early start.
