My hair is pretty freakin' oily, and without dreads I need to wash daily. With my dreads, can I wash daily?

After removing my first set of dreads I was tired of washing them every. single. day my hair was that oily. You could always wean your hair off being washed so much. Start washing it every two days for a week. Then the following week every third day and so on. I wash my hair once a week

if you can stop stripping your hair, it should be less oily within a month. its something the body naturally does after a while. i used to wash every morning like you but now they just get wet and scrubbed in the morning, no shampoo. i use dr b's on my hair once or twice a week, depending if i am feeling icky.

Wait, what happened? What did I miss? also thanks everyone for all the great info. This site is soooo helpful. I just finished my dreads last night and have lots of hope for them! they seem a little puffy though.... But I'm guessing that usual.

As for Dr. Bronner's.... Is This the kind you use? it doesn't specify it's use so I'm unsure which is which.

I would like to know what i could do with my bottles as i know you can refill them but i'm from the UK and don't think there's any shops in this country let alone locally that sell it. I could recycle them but if there's an option i could sent them back for them to reuse them i'd sooner do that.

Personally washing it once a week is pushing it for me. I like a minimum of a week and sometimes 2 before washing. The more you wash and remove the oils the more your head will produce to counter act this. Before I dreaded my hair I couldnt go a full day without hating my hair because it was so oily. I stopped washing regularly and stopped brushing(obviously) and after about 6 months the oil totally stabilized.
