    Hi
I'm already a member of hf, I was just too embarrassed to post this under my real name, since I know a few people in real life from here. All I'll say is I am a 16 y/o male. But anyway, in the past 2 weeks I've wet the bed like 3 times. And all 3 times it was really bad. This just started again out of nowhere. I used to have the problem til I was 13, but outgrew it. Is there any medical reason why it would just start again and what can I do? Also, I have to go on some overnight thing with my friend's church this weekend, and my mom already paid $100 for it so I have to go. I'm really nervous I'm gonna wet the bed then too. What should I do?

Hey 1234 .... bedwetting is a lot more common than you think. No reason to be so embarrassed. I suggest that you do some online research and then talk to your doctor about it.

For your more immediate problem of the church weekend, don't take any fluids after early afternoon no matter how thirsty you think you are ... do not drink until morning!

    Good luck!

Bedwetting's deffinately more common than you think. I have two male friends - one who had this problem up to his early teens and one who still has problems with it and he's 20 now.
I agree with limiting fluids in the afternoon for your church weekend, but it's not a long term fix. Do some research on the net, or see a doctor. Don't be embarrassed - I bet doctors see heaps of guys with this problem.

    Thanks for the tips.
I talked to my mom and first we decided to put my old plastic sheet on,since I almost ruined my mattress. Im glad we did cause I had a huge accident last night, apparently no fluids didnt help. As for the overnighter my mom suggested I wear a Depend lol, Im not sure though.
Also how can you get a stain off a pillow?

I can only echo the excellent advice given above!

Bedwetting is INCREDIBLY common! The only reason you don't hear much about it amongst guys your age is because everyone is too embarassed to admit it.

You asked is there a medical reason it might start again? The answer is yes but the medical reasons for bedwetting are rare!
Lack of ADH hormone, diabetes, urinary tract infections and constipation are all medical reasons for teens bedwetting - but they are all rare causes.

Psycological causes are often a cause when bedwetting re-ocurrs after not doing it for a while. Are you under any stress at all?
((Potentially it could have been a one of bedwetting event caused by a full bladder, a deep sleep etc, which then got you so worked up, that you then wet the bed again))

It will pass, if not, I hear hypnotherapy has had some excellent results.

And never be too afraid to visit your doctor... they see thing far worse than this, honestly!

Last time I did that was because I was dreaming, and I remember the dream vividly, with my granfather at a movie theater, I had to go piss so I looked for the bathroom, I entered. Started pissing in my dream, it was the longest piss ever I thought and my balls felt like they were going to explode and it also felt like I was going to ejaculate. It ends there, I wake up, tap my chick say check what I can do with no hands, eyes or toilet?

So my solution to you is, sleep tight and dream right.

Don’t be embarrassed, you’re just trying to get some answers for a legitimate issue.

I’ve had this happen a couple of times as an adult, first time was in my early twenties. I was laying in bed, and suddenly began urinating for no reason and it took me a few seconds to regain control of my bladder. It also happened one other time at a later point in my life as well. I’ve also had it happen where I had just awakened and went into the bathroom to start getting ready for work and before I could make it to the toilet I urinated on the floor without wanting to. Again it took a few seconds to stop myself.

For me the cause is definitely diabetes related as it has taken its toll on my body in many different ways. I’m currently having a little bit of trouble with my bladder again and I’m observing and working with my bladder to help him feel better.

It’s nothing to worry about and if you have an accident then just go ahead and clean it up without judging yourself or worrying about it!
