Ok, I know this may gross some of you out, but this just happened to me and I'm kind of freaking out about it. I just went to drop the kids off at the pool today, so I get done with my business, and I look down in the toilet bowl and I notice that the water is like a dark red color, so then I go to wipe- and next thing I know- there was like blood mixed in with my crap. Now, is this something that will just go away after a few days? Or is this a serious problem I should get checked out?
You should probably get it checked out with a doctor. It could be something like hemmeroids or anal fissures, or it could be internal bleeding. It may be embarrassing but better safe than sorry.
no that is not gross. having blood when you shit is common; everyone does it from time to time. if the blood is black or, your shit is black that, needs to be checked out by a doctor. alot of people who eat red colored foods (like beets) will piss and shit red. some foods such, as corn, penuts, popcorn etc. can cause internal bleeding. if you keep shitting blood more then 1 or 2 weeks call the doc.
Well...I've heard different....or no, maybe not.... I can't remember, but I know that it's either shitting or puking where if you've got blood you need to see a doctor as soon as possible....I think it's puking...you should not be puking blood...As for me, I have never shat blood...I don't think it's common either....
Yeah, no black shit or black blood luckily. I guess maybe what you said might be it, about drinking red colored stuff. I have been drinking alot of Cherry flavored sodas and stuff like that, maybe that could of been what caused it.
The first thing the doctor will ask is "Is the blood mixed in with the stool, or only on the paper?" As you said it's mixed in with the stool; therefore could potentially indicate a more serious pathology. (Rather than say hemorrhoids which results in bright red blood on the paper) Though obviously chances are nothing is wrong and this is just a one off - so don't worry!! If this has happened just the once I wouldn't be too concerned, you are a young lad, and unlikely to have anything wrong with the bowels. If it happens again and you need piece of mind, head to your doctor.
