Anybody got the back of the neck pierced?? How long did it take to cure?? Ive had mine now for 9months and its not fully healed, i keep getting scabs, and it sometimes really hurts, it keeps infecting then it gets better then it infects again. help please!
my friend got the back of her neck pierced and down her back to get that ribbon thing done but it was only in for less than a few hours, i'd have to say. does your hair touch the back of your neck? try switching shampoos.
ive always really liked those alot, god there hot, i would do it but my hair is way to long it would just get in the way
I've never seen a fully healed surface piercing. Ever. They've always been festering and disgusting. It's more than likely never gonna heal, it'll probably reject and you'll be left with a gnarly ass scar.
I've only seen one surface piercing heal ever, and it was special jewelry to get it to heal. They really aren't a good idea.
Yes, I agree with Sarahrei. My actually went though a mid-life crisis and got a skinbar on the back of his neck. It was disgusting, pus-filled and festering. And it smelled god awful. Generally, a waste of money I would say.
had my nape pierced, it wouldnt heal for anything. in the end i took it out. i do miss it but definitely not something id do again. cost too much and as its been posted before..they just do not heal.
I know someone who had several surface piercings..red and sore the entire time..Never healed..She had one on her nape and one on each wrist..
God damn disregard this entire thread. Special jewellery to get it to heal? It's called CORRECT jewellery. Of course a piercing wont heal if you put incorrect jewellery into it. I have a perfectly healed nape (back of neck) which is over three years old now, and I have long hair by the way. It didn't take long to heal at all and is quite highly regarded as the easiest surface piercing to heal. I've got an antieyebrow which has been absolutely perfect also even though its been ripped to shreads in the past (plastic bar literally ripped in half). Thats coming up to three years old also. I had a reasonably long surface piercing under my navel also that never actually had any physical problems, but I took that out due to it rubbing and catching on too many things, likes jeans and seatbelts. Proper aftercare! I only know a few people, other than the complete retards, who had their surface piercings fail. From my personal experience and the people I know the success rate for people who actually do their research and look after their shit is easily over 10:1
i had my nape done with a surface bar and a microdermal implant above it though i took the surface bar out after around 6 months due to getting it knocked frequently at gigs but other than that it was fine and only took a week or so to heal :/ if anything id recommend a microderm over a surface as they have a really high success rate and rarely reject heres a pic of mine anyways -
Actually no smart ass it's called SPECIAL JEWELLERY, it was custom. But thanks for correcting me without knowing what I'm talking about.
Unless it was a really fucken random placement, there is no need for a custom piece. Surface bars have been in production for many years now.. The piercer probaly just called it custom because theyre too cheap to actually stock them..
Acutally I worked at this shop and we had proper surface, both the nylon bars and the staples. This needed to be a cutom piece.
I do work in a shop. We have a large supply of surface bars of various sizes just like any other piece of jewellery. Ordered in just like any other type. We use to bend our own but that got tiresome and the prices came down nicely over the years. Any plastic would be a custom piece, but quite frankly, when using plastics its always a custom piece, no matter what the piercing. Nylon/PTFE/bioplast etc shouldnt be used in surface piercings anyway.. Really good way to lower your chances of success.
