I feel like an idiot

Okay so theres this guy I am crushing on that is in my building, but we don't cross paths very often, so I dont get to talk to him much.
This morning I was just really irritated because of school work and such, I just wasnt in a spectacular mood. Well I was walking to my dorm, and I saw him standing there talking to some girl near the front door, but me being my shy self and since i was in a bad mood I just kinda looked at the ground. When I walked closer to them he stopped, smiled and said hey. I looked up, gave a small smile and said hi quietly, and kept walking in. I feel like an idiot for not being friendlier or asking how he was or something. I probably would have been more likely to say more if he wasnt in a conversation. Even though I was in a bad mood I should have still said more. Ahhhh
Well hopefully I run into him again at some point today
I just dont feel like I was very friendly, and I dont want him to get a wrong impression

Well he was already talking to some other girl, so basically a simple hi really was enough.
Starting a conversation with him wouldn't have been too appropriate since he was already engaged in a conversation

Ooh yeah but, dont tell him you're naked. (obviously you'll be wearing a trench coat over the top). Then when he asks you to come in, you take the coat off and act completetly normal. He'll become really uncomfortable but you act like nothings weird. Then if he mentions it, deny it. After a while he'll go mad.
