I was thrilled to read this today, and I want to renew my offer of a drink or two with any members of hipforums coming over to my state for a same sex wedding.

    Woot! Civil rights rock!

Marriage is a commitment between two individuals. I am glad Connecticut acknowledges that.

Wouldn't real equality be offering a drink to everyone who gets married in your state?

I'm glad for gay marriages too, I don't think they should be put on a pedestal either. Just another day in the gayborhood.

Thinking of a Robin Williams line, "If you are married, it's always the same sex."

    Great quote!:cheers2:

I'm happy for this group. Other than the obese, they're probably the last segment of our population that it's still OK to outwardly despise. It's that Puritan-slash-hypocrisy thaaaang we got goin' on here. We worry a lot about who our neighbors are currently bedding.

Although, other than as a symbolic step forward in their civil rights battle, I don't know why gay people put so much stock in this particular institution. It's pretty much a failure.

yeah, but CT small businesses need a boost from the queer population coming from NYC to get married here.
