Why do you assume there is one?

No destiny. Only what we make of our lives. People have so many possibilities of action, that anything can happen in life and a lot of things can be done purely by applying your mind, overcoming your circumstance. there are only two factors in what goes on in your life: you and your circumstance.

(even though you are your circumstance...but lets not get into that lol)

but what if your circumstances are preordained by the aliens controlling our brains. or maybe the lizards...

that was the point of this thread. is there one?

i'd say there is. even our free will and our souls are just another factor in the equation. there is really only one way we could react. one way that things could happen.

but that's not to say there aren't alternate realities where things are different, but in this life things can only unfold one way.

I agree in determinism, but I dont believe that anyone will or has determined the course of the universe, and thus for all purposes, there is no destiny. especially no meaningful destiny.
Its like.. we have free will.. but our path is certain.. so we dont have free will.. but we still experience the world as if we all have wills, and it is useful to consider the world as if people have free will, because there is no way anyone or anything could ever predict what is going to happen when wills are involved

Our fate is to not have certainty in our destiny.
