I know this thread is really old, but biking or running really fast after you toke up is just amazing. It's like you're on top of the world.
I haven't blazed before a workout, but there are no indicators that marijuana is detrimental to muscle growth. the pro-marijuana people in this thread, with apparent knowledge of exercise and health, have said what I wanted to say and more. I think before my next weight lifting session I might have a little doobie
hey guys, i've been working out now for over 3 years now and i've gotten pretty high before some workouts and i have to say that it deffenetly DID NOT relax my muscles in fact i really got into my excercises, but of course it is up to the person on how they approach the workout. you cant be taking long ass brakes and when working out not putting full effort. i suggest getting high and going to the gym if the person is already a bit strong, it will be easier to get the wheel spinning if u know what i mean. i never took steroids (never will.), never drank any of those weird protein drinks or pill supplements. On top of that i was also fat at one time. So i say its up to the person. Read and hear others opinions and make your own conclusion.)

I am a very heavy smoker and have been since I started. I smoke on average of an 1/8 to myself a day. Some days only a gram or less if there's nothing good around. Some days much much more. I used to be where I could not work out sober. I just couldn't get the motivation. But then I did it sober a few times and... I cant say which is better for weight lifting. I lose my breath quicker high but when I finish the workout the burning goes away quicker. Except I like the burning a lot and I get higher if I smoke after I workout, especially if I didn't smoke through it. But for cardio workouts, I gotta do it high. Just smoke a few bongs, or joints and put on my IPod and just run or bike. I realize that if I do cardio work high, ESPECIALLY biking, then I can go for sooo much longer than sober. I just need some more water but that's good for you. I agree 100% but try something better IMO. Try biking on LSD. If you know some nice forest preserves or somewhere that has nice scenery. It is the most beautiful thing and greatest feeling. Just make sure you've done LSD a few times before getting to that point or you might scare yourself or get lost. But you do feel like your on top of the world, especially when the sun is on your back pumping you full of energy. I can go forever if I'm tripping as long as I have water. I've taken 5 strong hits around noon one day. Rolled a bunch of joints and hopped on my bike. Smoked the first one, rode around for 2 hours. Never looked at the time and thought it had been like 20 minutes. Then smoked another joint, and after 10 minutes of riding I thought I had been riding for like 6 hours. But I would just keep reaching down into my cigarette pack, light a J and keep on riding. Never even got off the bike to light the J's or anything. When I got home it was just before 6:15 and I was still tripping very strong. After like 5 minutes I wasn't even tired from the ride. But somehow by far the best visuals I have ever had. And I've done much much more LSD at once many times. At festivals and concerts, and have never had such beautiful visuals off of just LSD alone.
I personally don't find it a true detriment during the workout itself, but I've found the older I get, it makes me sleepy once the workout is over. If I don't work out high, I have more energy after. So I save the tokin' for chill times for the most part nowadays.
THC is a psychedelic.. so it puts you into a state of mind. I find working out high is amazing, when i'm high i'm way more in tune with my body, and its a lot easier to concentrate on what i'm doing in the stoner mind set. I don't think blazing before working out would do anything to you psychically.. except maybe your lungs.. but that hasn't effected me.
