The Wall, Decline and fall of Pink Floyd?

    I think it's hard to compare the 2, or any 2 Floyd albums for that matter, but especially anything to Piper, it was a different frontman, singer, songwriter and totally different sound. The Wall is a bit long and pompous sometimes, but it is a masterpiece of a rock opera. But it only got better I think, The Final Cut is one of my favorite Floyd albums

    Roger Waters leaving was the downfall of Pink Floyd.
    The Wall is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

    the wall is most definitly the most overrated floyd cd. it has a few good songs and most of the rest are decent, only a few suck and overall its still a good cd, but it is definitly no masterpiece. i agree with you, early floyd is most def some of the greatest music ever recorded imo. piper, more, saucerful of secrets, meddle, those were master pieces. even darkside, animals, and wish you were here are masterpieces. but a little of the wall and the majority of everything else after it was severly lacking to me at least

    I like the wall....but alot of it sounds like such obvious word vessels...
