It's Fall... and I was in the mood to listen to Nick Drake's Pink Moon and I hadn't listened to that album in over a year. I cried. Is there, in the world, a more beautiful album? I can't express how much I love it, it's purely emotional. That album is perfect, there's not one song I don't like or like less than the rest. And the cover is gorgeous too.

I love Five Leaves Left but although I really like Bryter Layter too, I'm not into it as much... Pink Moon really is my favorite. Fly is such a beautiful song off Bryter Layter though... but yeah Pink Moon is like... one of my top 10 albums, all-artists, all-times, I think.

I've been listening to Tanworth-In-Arden 1967/68 quite a bit lately...a little rough as it's home recordings but his talent shines through the static. A lot more blues-y than his studio albums...good stuff.

It's not that great (IMO). His other albums are better. Five Leaves Left is still my favorite.

My favourite song of his is Northern Sky, it's incredibly beautiful. It's on Bryter Layter. To be honest, none of his other songs have really caught my special attention.

I shouldn't have opened this thread! I just downloaded Pink Moon. I haven't ever heard it before and I hate going into a new album with preconceptions.

I'll be pretty disappointed if it sucks after reading that it can make people cry.

Nick Drake is one of my favorite songwriters of all time. He flew under the radar during his lifetime, sadly..

pink moon is an incredible album...I much prefer it over Five Leaves Left and Bryter Layter. I think Nick's music sounded far better without the strings backing him up. I just love to listen to this album all in one. It gives you a certain mood....it's just perfect

definitely a solid album (pink moon)....not man bad ones on that record....

you might like Leo Kottke (hes my favorite of the folk, acoustic, singer songwriters)...his voice and lyrics arent anything close to Nick Drake, but his guitar playing ability makes Nick Drake sound like a sissy girl on the geetar lol.....its all personal preference tho....as most people prefer lyrics and words over sounds when it comes to music....but whatever floats your boat as they say...to me, insturmentals can create just as, if not more emotion than a song with lyrics that make you cry and such...i feel that way after listening to Leo Kottke's "Across The Street" as it is about a man who was sent to prison, which happened to be right across the street from his family's home...so he could still watch his children grow up....you can feel that kind of emotion when you listen to it...and i find that very impressive..
