I didn't see this anywhere so hope you'll forgive me if it's already posted somewhere. This is supposed to fire up in a few days, the 10th and it's surprising to me that we don't hear much about it. It's supposed to be totally going by 2010 and do it's best work by 2012. That date again is interesting. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/08/the_large_hadron_collider.html
Pretty cool, huh? The US government said they didn't have enough money to build one yet they spend that same amount of money every 2 weeks on war. I'm looking forward to what this has to offer.
Hi stalk, I hope it's something interesting and doesn't blow us to smitherines. Goodness knows, enough money and time was put into it. :cheers2:
What else could go wrong? Humorous piece with a quasi-serious undertone, i.e., this could really open up a can of worm(hole)s, so to speak. http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/1275645-geneva-worm
Whatever it dose it will be totally awesome. Even if it dose make a black hole and destroy the world that would still be pretty cool. Didn't a chick kill herself before it was activated because she thought the world was going to end?
I heard 2012 is just the next step in human evolution That would be gorgeous!!! but I may be a dreamer
Those so-called 'scientists' are like a bunch of overgrown kids playing with box of matches in barn full of hay. They probably all still believe that the Americans put a man on the moon as well. And that has been proven false becuase they faked it using an understanding of physics that wouldn't get you through high school. In addition, they do not know what they are doing, because they cannot explain what good it will do for anyone, except fat salaries for themselves and money for the contractors who put it together.
2012? like that other guy said, what a coincidence. The day before they were gonna do their testing in september, I got all freaked out. they sid this black hole would devour the planet in 4-7 minutes. I thought we'd be sucked up and dead than less than a second. so I was kind of panicking of the very slight chance of being slowly ripped apart the next day.
I am very excited to what this has to offer. I think there is a lot of bullshit out there saying what it could do to us but it is all just that, bullshit
apparantly this gimmick takes a few years to waste everyone's time and money in a way it has caused a black hole: a financial black hole
don't try to put ur head in this in the day this thing was supposed to run in my class there was "panic" that it's rly gonna cr8 black hole and we were all gonna die.... bullshit
It won't do anything. It gives us a more profound knowledge of subatomic particles. It'll unlock new technologies that will rival the 21st century's in regards to progression in fields that were once science fiction. Wouldn't you like to hover in a vehicle you've only seen on T.V.? That day is getting closer, and it's beyond 2012. That's just the end of the Mayan calender. Had to end sometime, just like their reign.
weapon of new generation and maybe some energy devices, nothing else could come out of this... but weapons would be very destructive
i think this is cool. i think its dangerous but awesome. if we were to find another dimension ( a predicted out come of the LHC ) thatd be incredible.. however, im a little iffy on the whole "creation of black holes" side effect
