I think you misunderstood my post sometimes accusing others of being useless is a cover for not wanting to work TOO.
pfft, you give a shit about OSHA regulations? pussy (kidding, I worked construction for about a year myself)
That's great. thanks for paying the taxes that pay me (I mean this sincerly). However, you don't know what I do for a job, so you really do not have a right to judge. I would appreciate it if in the future you could keep your hurtful opinions to yourself when you and I are talking.
I'm not clear on it either, but, I don't agree with this statement. I do understand the thoughtset it comes from you have the privilege of working with real things, someone fucks up, bad things happen, I mean, there is some play (I've seen people do things they should not have gotten away with in this state, fucking ridiculous shit, materials that shouldn'ta been used, joints made poorly, a house that was framed completely out of square, it is retarded) but, you live in a world of practical absolutes which, is really nice, and, it's really great that our language enforces practical absolutes (listen to english, then listen to french, english words resolve, french words just kind of end) and you live in a world of absolutes Lynz works with kids whose parents don't do their job. she is picking up slack, and just because the slack doesn't show in a concrete, house standing, or falling sort of way, doesn't mean it isn't valuable. she might be keeping one of those kids from going wacky, grabbing an SKS and shooting up his workplace at mcdonalds in fifteen years because his girlfriend leaves him. societies have always had people who filled the role she is filling maybe in slightly different ways, and usually in the church, but it being institutionalized, doesn't make it any less meaningful. I do not agree with the requirement for a college degree for many of these positions, and I further disagree with the virtual guarante a degree renders to get that sort of job, but that is the way things are right now, and it sucks. we either change it, or suck it up./
great, we don't have the hardware to make a lot of psychology quantifiable yet, we DO have a great many good statistics (real statics, not economic correlations like the news feeds you, there is a HUGE difference) that support counseling, and support certain therapy methods YES, there is quackery in psychiatry, and in psychology, fuck, there is quackery in neurology, and cardiology, that doesn't mean those are broken sciences have you SEEN how primitive neurological tools are? I have, fuck, give me $500, a decently priced electronics store, and a couple hundred hours, I could build an EEG from scratch, that doesn't mean it's a bad science, just a primitive one. computer science is primitive, that doesn't make every electronics engineer in the world useless.
middle class, well, I don't know what I can say. I want to say middle class isn't rich. I know the community lynz lives in, you can't live out there and be rich, it's just not an option, the best case scenario is middle class, and, yeah, american middle class is REALLY well off compared to the rest of the world. but it's not "rich" in the obscene excess meaning of the word, it is a method of adapting to the modern american paradigm, frankly, there should be break points in american culture, but that's a TOTALLY different thread.
Really? I agree that its not fair its a virtual guarantee, but I think it is important for certain jobs, to have a degree.. Course I didnt read most of this thread, so Im probably off base here.
I don't know you well enough to say anything about your character, simply asking a question as to why you'd think that. I'm with you on the "hippie" deal, there's just too many individual personalities that cannot be summed up by any universally used word, there'd have to be a single recognized term for far to many individuals if we correctly stereotyped though...
I don't care about being poor or my man being penniless. Money is fleeting, it's so fuckin' temporary.
French Language & Literature Major and Minor in Social Justice and Peace. Financial gain? Why, I'd rather save the world.
is a program that REQUIRES college. at least mechanical, and structural EE you can figure out a lot of on your own, but the dedication required is absent from a lot of people I mean, the calculus alone is a headache.
