Hello, I am planning to visit Portland soon, and eventually move there. I saw a few years ago that there was a restaurant or cafe with no prices on the menu. People pay what they have in either work or money. Does anyone know about this place? I'm not having any luck. Thanks.
I think you may mean Sisters Of The Road Cafe? Its a place in downtown around 6th & Davis, right next to what used to be Satyricon. $1.50 gets you a meal and a drink. These meals can be earned through straight cash, food stamps, EBT cards, Sisters Of The Road coupons that people buy and give away, and most popularly: bartered work. Working for 15 minutes doing basic cleaning and the like gets you one hot meal, and working more can earn you credit. It is an AMAZING organization.
