There's probably been other threads like this..but I suppose people might have read something since. Anyhow, what books have you read about LSD(or other similar psychedelics that would overlap, like mescalin)? Personally Iv read the following: The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley- This was one of the first books I read on psychedelics. Heaven and Hell by Aldous Huxley- This focuses more on art. Also very interesting. LSD: My Problem Child by Albert Hofmann- Obviously the creator/discoverer of acid. Good book. LSD Psychotherepy by Stanislav Grof- This is easily the most interesting book Iv read on acid. My understanding of it certainly changed through it. The book is almost all about "bad" trips, which happen to be very good for people with psychological problems, as long as they're properly integrated. It's interactions with various mental states is quite interesting; for example many people with OCD are not effected by the drug at all, even at doses such as 10,000ug. That last one seems to go unnoticed by most people.
If no ones gotten it yet, Id love that book. I dont think I can send you messages until you post more.
lol. i thought this meant what books have you read while ON lsd! i was curious, b/c i didn't think most people were interested in reading in that state of mind, but who knows.
Oh..how much do I need to post? I also have a copy of Heaven and Hell/Doors of Perception that I could ship to someone. pm(once I post more..lol) my msn is bugsylol@hotmail.com yahoo: bugsylol@yahoo.com if you don't want to wait for pms ^^
haha yeah that could be challeging, but probably pretty amazing if your reading the right thing. I'd love to study some classical art/poetry while tripping.
the Psychedelics Encyclopedia is good = ) http://books.google.com/books?id=Ec...i=book_result&resnum=2&ct=result#PRA2-PA84,M1
Has anyone read TIHKAL? its really great if you're interested in chemistry and psychedelic research. Ive also tried to read the doors of perception a couple times, but I have a hard time getting into it, because of the way Huxley writes, but one day Ill finish it.
I tried to read the cryptic writing on the black star acid I took way back and almost understood it! alooha!
