shit....i'm 23 and some days feel like i need a cane to get around. i find myself often clutching to handrails on stairs like i'm trying to strangle them. its sporadic, but i get some joint pain somewhat frequently. mostly my knees. sometimes its terrible, shooting pain, sometimes its a persistan, dull ache. but its always a concern, whether its present or not.

ugh. oh well, if i ever do actually need a cane, at least i can get a cool, stylish one haha

I feel you there man....I tore my left ACL when I was 14, had to wait 2 years to have surgery (growth plates), then re tore it at 18...I'm 19 now, and both my knees are shot...doc thinks it's petellar femoral syndrome, maybe some ITBs too...but they haven't really gotten any better over the period of a month...slowly starting to give up on the belief that I'll be able to do the things I want in life (they all include having reliable legs...traveling). It's a horrible realization, but I've been to optimistic about em up until now....I know how it feels not to be able to walk man, and at a young age it REALLY sucks.

Being psychically disabled like this really fucks with you....

my mom had a gymnastics accident when she was 16 and blew one of her knees, she's 54 now and only now did they give her a replacement
she had the surgery in september and she's been recovering since, doc says she'll be able to work come january
hurting your knee is bad business and makes for functioning to be really hard

i hope i don't lose my knees, they're what make me the most money
