Ive lived up and down the East coast from Vermont to Florida and by far and away the most cool people Ive met in one place have been in PA. Go figure ! With two vastly different large cities, Victorian Architecture everywhere, Great Lakes, and trees '0 plenty in the mid Pennsyltucky part, it has something for everyone. :cheers2:
the only reason that pa is ghetto infested (such as landsdale) or just plain nasty people, is because of all the people moving from new york and new jersey, i sware they should just drop the NJ border and consider both states one.
I've lived in Pennsylvannia all my life. It's not that bad. You may need to move to a little bit of a more rural area. Philly is a great place to go on the weekends. There are pretty many hippies near where I live. We could hang out sometime, maybe smoke or something... peace love and light
Hell yea Pa is the greatest state!!! You just gotta get out of Pittsburgh. Check the small unnoticable towns. There's great people all over, and the nature here is soooo cosy.
whoa psu is filled with hippies, it's a college town of 60,000 there's bound to be hippies. Some of em are surely snobbish at least at first glance, hippier than thous, but you'll get that anywhere hippies are a big population, like norcal. State college has some hip shops, a marijuana day celebration every year, drum circles on wednesdays, rainbow potlucks at a farm somewhere, I don't live there my sister does ... anyway I love PA, miss it sometimes
ive lived up and down the east coast, and ive been in almost every state. and PA is def my favorite one. it really sucks when your younger. i hated it until i got a car. and i agree there are alot of cool people out here, but we are all way to spread out. i love the winter time. loves snow =)
I live near Pittsburgh. In Uniontown. Anyone near meeeee? >8D. PM me if you are, we'll talk on MSN! I need buddies! HA! And PA... Eh, I have days where I love it and days where I hate it. Right now I don't like it because it's rainy all the time. Either it has to be snowy, or sunny. NOT RAINY! Haha.
Living in hershey next to the park you think would be interesting, well its not. Especially since the local police and DEA did a sweep pretty much arresting everyone and making friends snitch on other friends
if you lived near kennywood park you would have to deal with the same thing, Duquesne and West Mifflin nothing but gang crap, guns and what not.. a mile down the road Homewood more gang activity.. Kennywood park has never sucked so bad..
I'm not a hippie, but I'm still pretty cool. But yeah, I know what you mean by a lot of fake hippies. Apparently if you smoke weed and wear a woolen hat you're a hippie. (disregard the fact that I have a woolen hat in my pic.. I didn't even buy that. It just appeared in my house one day and no one claimed it)
It sucks coz it's not North Carolina haha, i dunno i haven't lived here that long, it's ok.. Love sidney
I've been stationed in some bad places. Mostly Virginia and Mississippi. I was born here in PA and couldn't wait to come back home. I love the mountains so I'll be one of the few people who actually like it here.
the natural landscape rules. the human landscape sucks. there are people here who are assholes, like the majority of the rednecks in the "alabama zone" between Philadelphia and Pittsburg. plus, at least in my city, Philly, half the people are either crackheads or cops, and most of the other half doesn't care. but I love this state when I'm alone in the woods. even Philadelphia's fairmount park system is a wonderful natural refuge.
I live in PA and I enjoy it. The landscape is beautiful. As for the people who live here dont tell me this state aint got no heart... you just got to poke around Where I live is full of open minded people and close mided people. I choose who I associate with.
When I lived in PA (17 years), I noticed that what annoyed me about the people was that if you lived right fucking downtown in one of the two major cities, there was an interesting mix of people, then the inner suburbs are havens for violent crime. The outer suburbs are where the oh, so annoying super-rich live. Then, the rest of PA is full of, to be frank, hillbillies and creepy small towns. I don't fit into any of those demographics. I am an average, [generally] law abiding, non-hillbilly, lower middle class person.
