Doctors don't need to get rich.
If we are a civilized country we should have healthcare for everyone. It works for many other countries. Why should our taxes be used for illegal war but not for healthcare?

Clinton was a great president man. I wish he was still president, he was a cool guy.

 

all this got me thinking why don't everyone on the forums put all their money together and buy an island somewhere where we can all live and we declare it natural.. we won't have to worry about the rest of the world and their wars then...

Note: i'm not really suggesting any of use start selling our homes and do this just a funny thought i just had..

 

no one needs to get rich, but a lot of people spend all of their effort to do so. We are never going to live in a utopia, so get used to that.

 

And do people know Bush's "solution" to this problem? Spend money on building prisons.....

first of all being 17, you still are sucking on a teet and have no actual clue what it takes to provide for your family. dont forget I was 17 once, you have never been a 31 year old fat man. People that make more than 200,000 a year can hire accountants that in the end ,even after paying the CPA ,pay less than a 75,000 year family does. Bill gates pays , proportionally mind you, less tax a year than a full time entry level McDonalds employee. I didnt say it was fair, I said Kerry will not fix it. You keep forgetting that I asked you what Kerry would do, not what was wrong. Our tax system will make it so that your hard working parent s and someday you will bear the brunt of the solutions you are proposing. Bush didnt install it. He just works with it. As will Kerry.

You do remember that you proposed to raise taxes to provide universal health care? SO now you are cutting the taxes of the wealthiest that you expected to provide the funding for cancer treatments, and push the burden back upon the working class you claimed you were helping. yup, you will make a great president some day. you already think like one.

Try to remember Kerry as well as bush jfk reagan etc only care about the wealthy voters. he will tell you everything his string pullers think you want to hear. Democrats lie to you telling you what you want to hear. Republicans lie to you telling you whats good for business. Kerry will in no way make an american worker want to earn less an hour, and so out sourcing will continue.

You still seem to not understand that no president ( except reagan, he really did fuck things up) has ever been in control of the economy during their reign..er term in office. all they have ever done was inherit what they guy before him implemented. Economic trends take deacades guide. Presidents get 8 years at best. Reagan Prospered from Jimmy carter. Bush sr. started fixing what Reagan fucked away, Clinton fucked all that progress away, and Bush has been dealing with it, badly, probably.

All the more reason to stop invading countries and invest more in our own domestic safety. Many more people die by the gun here in this country every YEAR than those who died on 9-11. Yet we arrest more people for marijuana-related reasons (88% of which are for possession alone) than we do for robbery and ALL violent crime COMBINED. Then, ignoring our cultural collapse, we spend billions on an illegal war for no good reason (no WMD's, and Saddam wasn't a threat, and no al queda connection). There is no logic to be found in any of this. We should stop wasting law enforcement's time and money persecuting pot heads and go after the real criminals here, the killers and rapists. We should work on spending money to get people out of poverty, out of slums, and thus reduce crime that way. But we just gave a huge tax cut to the richest people in the country, and the gap between rich and poor continues to grow. Insanity...

And terrorists? Well, there was no al queda in Iraq before we invaded. That country, although ruled by an oppressive dictator, was in pretty good order. Now look at it...car bombs, suicide bombs, al queda everywhere, insurrection, joblessness and poverty, death. We should have focused on Afghanistan and the real terrorists. We should also stop being assholes to every other country and making people hate us. That right there would decrease the terrorist threat.

By the way, it's easy to go back and list lots of negetives to ex presidents while leaving out the positives, then listing the positives for Bush and omitting the negetives. And do you think we shouldn't have fought in WW2? With nations invading nations, death camps, etc? Hitler was a threat, Japan was a threat. Saddam? He was sitting in his own country, attacking no one and minding his own business. He wasn't a good guy, but he wasn't a threat to us either.

 

yes. I have listed no positives. I have devils advocated a teenager that was willing to argue with me. I like to argue.

I am not going to answer your question about WW2. I do not know enough about it to give you an intelligent answer. I was just listing some points about some of the wars that have been started. I didn't want to get into a debate about each one. I was wrong to post it without thinking people might want to debate about them. I'm sorry.

I feel I owe the people who responded to this thread, even the ones that read it an apology.

There were some really harsh things, accusations that were said to people that should not of been said.

I realize now that I can not start threads like this without expecting people to want to debate. I am not a good debater. It's not in my nature to argue with people. If you knew me you would know I am or try to be a peaceful person. This thread contradicted that about me.
