i remember one from highschool, but don't recall the specifics of it. i remember it being a big deal, though. iirc he met the chicks at some sketchy but popular bar near campus

then after i was out of highschool, again i dont know specifics or anything, i remember hearing about a guy on the loose who was attacking chicks at knifepoint on campus, iirc often while they were using an ATM or something.....

but i remember at LEAST two different serial rapists since i was in highschool

those two things were recent and i only know about them cause i knew the kid and the cops thought my little brother stabbed the guy, cept for the fact that my brother had shoulder length hair...

It's pretty weird that they haven't caught him if he uses the victims' credit cards. There are usually cameras around all bank outlets etc.

That's another thing that has always amazed me. Why in the hell do they have CCTVs with such low quality.

I mean I don't think they should have them at all, but if they're gonna, they should make sure that they are fucking useful.

I know that they are cheaper but what is the fucking point of spending any money at all if the goddamn thing is fucking useless. Better to not spend it in the first place, no?

 

the thing is, most of the hardware investment was made in the early nineties, when a good camera cost thousands, and those durable as fuck, but shitty ones, cost a few hundred dollars

now, a much less expensive camera could perform the same duties much better, more cheaply, but the driving cost here comes from the retrofitting.

Seriously, those cameras that are supposed to make people safer are so crappy.

You would think in this century the security cameras would be more useful. The criminals know that all they have to do is pull a baseball cap over their face and no one will ever find them.

I've also noticed that the footage they show from ATMs is usually from the back...which helps them conceal their face.
