Heya folks, Kinda new in town and looking for a "hangout". You know, mellow people, good conversation and hopefully acoustic music. I know this isn't Ithaca, but come on, all I've found are redneck beer joints. OK if you like drunk rednecks. Any suggestions?
All you'll find in Columbus, Ohio, are rednick bars and OSU Football bars where the pathic imature obsessed locals hang out to see their local football team. If you're not a rednick or a pathic imature obsessed OSU football fan, this town SUCKS. It use to have a lot of things to do in this town, but now, everything has catered to these two groups. Oh, ya, there are a few "Gentelmens Clubs" in town that charges alot for nothing. As far as places to go to meet normal people, there's noplace in this big hick town anymore. I've bee here for over 20 years and been wanting to leave for ten. Now that my parents passed away, there's nothing holding me back except I can't sell may house, so I'm stuck here. Everybody thinks this is the best place in the world. Well, if the only other place you've been in the hills of West Verginia (as most of these residents are from), then this place would be heaven. I suggest that you keep your bags packed and move on.
He is right, for the most part especially around campus where i live. There is FOO'BALL!!!11!!1 fans everywhere.
I have no problem s finding cool places to hang out here, and I don't even like football or being around football fans you guys obviously suck, so I'm not going to bother helping you out
Best places for music, in my opinion, are Cafe Bourbon st/The Summit Carabar there is a new place Circus that sounds promising if you like mellower music, try Rhumba Cafe or East Village then for bigger shows there is Ravari Room and Skullys

oldefields is good music and folks, its on high st down campus, but columbus does suck its all fuckin commercial theres no places where you can go and not see civilization for miles, its ugly, beauty lies in nature and theres none of that in columbus.
