You need: Black beans + Red beans (I usually use 2 medium cans of each, but go by preference) 1 small can corn (don't drain) 1 onion 1 package veggie ground (I use original) 7 tbsp chili powder (Use to taste) Large can of tomato sauce 2 tbspgarlic powder 1 tbsp cinnamon 1 tbsp Pepper Oil 4 cups water Tabasco sauce -Chop onions and saute in oil in large pot with veggie oil, no higher than 4/5. -When onions are browned, add water. -Add veggie ground. -Add tomato sauce, let simmer for 10-15 minutes. -Rinse beans until water runs clear and then add to mix. -Add corn, including water in the can. -Let sit for awhile, stirring occasionally. -Add spices, stir well. -Add tabasco sauce to taste. Let sit and stir until it reaches desired consistancy.
i think i'd opt out of the veggie ground and just throw a whole bunch of other veggies in... that's just me though...
bleah that isnt a chilli.....try this my family cant tell there isnt any beef in this mix. adn I havnt ever told them. this first part isnt added in to the chilly untill about an hour before serving . Take about 1/ 2 pound of vegie ground and fry it in crisco with 1/2 a onion and 2 cloves of crushed garlic, and lawries seasoning salt untill it is well browned...... now for the rest of the chilli 1 medium can black beans with juice 1 large can kidney beans with juice 1 medium can pinto beans with juice 3 fresh tomoatoes finely diced 1 pound of cut mushrooms 2 red peppers cut up 7 japenio peppers finly diced 3 habinero peppers finely diced 1 1/2 onions 1 small can tomato past 1 large garlic clove - crushed/diced for spicing I basicly use salt to taste old el paso chili spice.. 2 packages msg to taste.. a little goes a long ways fry everythign a bit then add the beans and spices and let it simmer all day or untill it thickens. In the last hour add the fried veggie ground, and 1 tsp of cumin note: I also add artichoke hearts in with the vedgies if Im cooking for myslef, but no one else I know will eat it if I do.
Try using baby corn instead of kernals. I also prefer New Mexico hot chili powder. And the chili is served up with grated extra sharp cheddar and crackers. Two bowls later, I'm a beached whale and unable to move much. . x
