hmmmmm... tea with lemon and whiskey and tylenol cold?
    seriously, i have no idea.

and even though it might not be from all your herb smoking, the herb smoking certainly isn't helping. it actually slows down your healing process. if you haven't already, i'd suggest you cut back from a few weeks.

i've been mad sick the last couple days, myself. sounds kinda like what you have, plus puking and a runny nose. yum.

anyway, if you're not going to puke up whatever you eat, i'd say eat garlic (it's so good for you, and it boosts the immune system) and fruit (not with the garlic, of course).

like marywasaperv said, drink tea with lemon, but add honey to the mix, as well, 'cause that'll soothe your throat. the lemon should dry out your flegm (or so i've been told).

avoid ice cream or anything dairy. it might seem like it would cool off your throat, but all the pus in the dairy would make it worse in the long run. popsicles (the kind with real fruit juice) would be better. or make a fruit smoothie with soymilk.

smoking herb has actually helped me with my cold, but only because i was puking so much before. i literally couldn't stomach a sip of water, and i was puking every half hour. gross, i know. but i was worried that i would become dehydrated, so i'd rip a quick tube for the anti-nausea effects. i took actual prescription anti-nausea medicine yesterday, and of course, i puked the medicine up. you're not gonna puke up smoke, though. so after i smoked, i was actually able to drink a little water and not feel like death. if the colds mostly around your throat though, smoking will probably just make it more inflamed.

breathe in steam, or tea vapors. carefully sniff boiling water or a steaming mug of tea, or take a hot shower/bath. if you take a hot bath, toss a couple tea packets in there. mint and peppermint should open your sinuses right up.

hopefully all of this is coherient, because like i said, i'm sick, too. feel better!

    Hey. Are you feeling better?
If you're still coughing try tea with honey, and you can also put some mint leaves in it. (if you don't have mint around... a tea with mint flavoring would be fine).
Also, if your into sweet things... try a spoonful of honey every few hours, just to coat your throat, make it less irritated, and prevent coughing.
    Stay warm, and get rest.

Sorry you're still not feeling good. If it's the flu, try clear liquids.. like soup, tea, juices, and lots and lots of water. Goldenseal tea is good for treating the flu.. (it sort of works as an antibiotic from what i've heard). It tastes... nasty, but add sugar, and it won't be as bad.
Vitamin C or Echinacea drops can work well in getting the flu or a cold to go away quicker.
If you are throwing up.. I posted this before.. but mint will definatly make you feel a bit better. (teas, or even altoids).
    feel better.

I would avoid any food with pus in it! I have never had a dairy product that contained pus...

Try some cepastat lozenges for your throat, and some Tylenol Severe congestion to help open you up. You can also take Delsym for your cough.

i'm under the impression that ALL dairy contains pus. because cows are overmilked, the pus-filled, open sores inside their udders cannot heal. the pus ends up going into the milk/butter/whatever. so when your sick, it's best to avoid all dairy.

    i hope you're feeling better!

With treatment colds last about 10 days, without treatment they last about a week and a half.

Do what makes you feel better, drink fluids (but I, too, am of the camp who belives you really should avoid dairy, even if there isn't cow pus in it (BLEH) some beleive it causes the body to produce more mucous.) Take something for your fever, and a decongestant, if it makes you feel better.

Too late for a flu shot, anyway. It is early for real influenza. The flu shot, if you could get one, takes at least a week to become effective. There are antiviral meds, if it were influenza and not a cold, but they need to be taken in the first 72 hours of symptoms.

Flu: Severe body aches, high fever, nausea (but not usually vomiting and the runs, there really is no such thing as a stomach "flu") and malaise.

Cold: More head symptoms, lower fever if any, mild body aches, if any. Lots more sneezing than the flu.

I hope you are feeling better.

Anything you smoke will make any respiratory illness worse. Maybe stop the herb, and any cigarettes until you are healed.

    LOL!
Delayed reaction, but I just got this. I read this when you first posted and thought you goofed, but then I realized tonight, out of the blue, it is like the old saying, "six of one, a half-dozen of the other."
