Okay, to stary off, my mom said her knees are "deteoriorating" or something, so whenever she bends down, you hear a cracking noise, but it doesn't bother her too much. For the better part of this year, my knees have been hurting (mostly my right knee) and whenever I bended down today during my work out session to do squats, I felt something weird happen to my knee, but I can't quite describe what I felt. Is there anything I can do to take down the pain in my knees?
your only 14?? possible growing pains. unless your a hockey goalie or a alter boy I think your knees will be fine.. you may want to wrap your knees while doing squats. you can avoid a blow out. Depending on weight, and your ankle strength. You could break your ankle aswell.. at 38 my knees are fine.. but occasional locking, and snapping.
It is possible that it is growing pains, but if your mom is young and her joints are breaking down it could be a number of things that my also be genetic. I know of a couple people who are quite young and have osteoporosis. But it is best not to worry and check with a doctor if you are concerned.
My mom is 43 now, and I thought it could be genetic, but after reading these posts it could be growing pains. I thought that I may not be getting enough rest, but now I'm not so sure...I think it could be growing pains, because at the beginning of the year they were just fine.
could have a cold in your knee.. Do you rest near a wall?? One leg againts a cold wall wiil do this... Water on you knee. Also common.. You should get a neopreen wrap and it slips on Or with velcro. use it when you need it. You know big football players get hurt knees too. they just rest for a while like you said.. Good luck ..
I never thought of that...but my bed is against a wall, and the right knee is the one that hurts most, and is also the one against the wall. I've tried making it as comfy and warm as possible, but that could also be a contributing cause. I'll try that later.
I had the same thing happen when I was growing up too.. I swear. Old cold plaster wall.. transfers colds and dampness.. Kinda why you wanna give your dog a bed too, and not have em sleep on the cold hard floor. if you have a dog. They get arthritis too. just makes sense..
your 14?.. read this and see if it sounds familiar, its a really common problem in kids. if so see a doctor, they will sort you out. http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00041 oh and if it hurts to do squats dont do them. Also have some body differnt than normal spot your technique. squats are a great exorsise, but they're also a finicky exersise that a lot of people dont do right.
