I have a US thunder pro digital scale. It showed an error today, that when i looked it up on google, said it needed to be calibrated. I found online instructions and followed them to the tee, with no luck. "Turn off the scale. Press "CAL/MODE" key, press "ON/ OFF" with another finger, once turned it on, then loosen it. Do not loosen "CAL/MODE" key until it showed "CAL" then press "CAL/MODE" key again, then the "CAL" will start to gleam, please keep stability of the scale, and wait the twinkling sign change into "100.0", put the 100g weight Standards, on the platform continue keeping stability of the scale, wait desplay "PASS". Calibration is complete." Never gets past the flashing 100 and just turns off after a minute or so. any help?
yeah your scale doesn't work dude. I've been through like 4 of the cheap ones from various places and they never last more than a month and I only use it every other week. I'm sticking with the postal scales they are the best for me. As long as you don't bend it, it will always be calibrated.
since i spent 50 dollars on it, im reluctant to just "get a new one". worst part is i lost my warranty card
ouch that sucks. ive been wanting to get a scale, just dont have the cash at the moment. good luck with the scale jake.
have you tried changing the batteries? even if the scale is new the batteries could be junk, thats always the first thing to do when your scale wont work. thats really surprising, about 5 years ago i bought a 25 dollar my weigh scale for taking on the road, used it a lot for a couple years, never had one problem with it, sold it to a friend, who still uses it to this day without any problems shortly after selling that one to him i bought another cheapy scale, 20 bucks and its been going strong ever since. not at all doubting you, just curious as to why youve had such bad experiences. what kind of conditions were the scales kept it? i always kept mine in a padded bag and never dropped it or caused any sort of shock to it. these cheap ones are fragile, but if you are very careful you shouldnt have them break on you that often
I remember one of my connects would fold up a bill, which weighs out to a gram, to calibrate his scale. Don't know if this helps or not...
that might work to check if the scale is calibrated, assuming every bill is 1.00gs but to actually calibrate the scale you have to use a 100g weight (usually on smaller scales) that syncs up the scale to an accurate weight
I've tried changing the batteries and I keep it in a box up in my closet so it never gets bumped around, I guess I've just had bad luck, but you never know how the people that load and unload the boxes and the store attendants treat them either.
you need to use a one dollar bill because nickles come off the line as 5.1 grams and eventually wear down to 4.9g. but every one dollar bill has the same fibers that never get worn down.
If your going to buy a new one any spring for a quality product and avoid the hassle. I have a myweigh i1000 that has been treating me right for years. cost about $120 but has never had a problem and been in constant use.
Wow man, you got RIPPED OFF!!! I ordered this same scale on Ebay for $15 [free shipping too], and searched for reviews online. I saw it on Amazon for SEVEN DOLLARS, with 2 horrible reviews saying it was total junk. So I searched a little further. The brand is nothing but a scam enterprise selling extremely cheap scales from China. The guy running it got in big trouble, so they keep changing their websites, and even the name of the brand! They used to be known as Rite Weight, and they had a terrible reputation. You can read all about it here at this site that actually reviews scales. http://www.digitalscale.com/brands.htm#Rite You don't have to spend alot of money on a decent scale tho. US Balance rips the designs off of real scale companies - the US Thunder is ripped off of the Proscale Luxe 600. The funny thing is, you can get it on Ebay for less than $15 shipped also - only it's WAY better and actually works. Just go to google and search "Oldwillknott ebay" and you'll find it. $50 tho, shit - I'd be PISSED and trying to get that money back!!!
oldwillknott is a great seller, i purchase the previously mentioned myweigh scale from him along long time ago, best service ever had on ebay, got a bunch of freebies, and thing was shipped fucking fast listen to the previous poster
Agreed 100%. My 1st scale was a $30 Jennings that came w/ the calibration weight and everything. It was very accurate and never even needed recalibration usually. When I saw that he was on ebay I was shocked, cuz the prices were even cheaper than the site, although there's not nearly as big a selection of scales. I feel really bad for this guy tho, cuz me just paying $15 for that US-Thunder scale I was soo pissed!! Like I said, the company is US Balance, and they totally RIP OFF other company's designs. It's shocking! The US-Thunder is ripped off the Proscale Luxe 600, and like I said Oldwillknott's ebay store it's $15 incl. shipping. You can actually get it with the calibration weight too for $20.
