I've had my dreads for a month now and washed them for the first time this morning.I spent ages squeezing all the water out of them so now they are quite dry except soo frizzy around the top! It's kind of like a frizzy halo :troll: is there anything I can do to them to make this go way? I've been rolling them...thats all I realli do to mine anyway.Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Wait. They will go away in a few months if you're lucky. It's part of the process.

rolling is a waste of time just leave them, it sounds like they are still very young. you could crochet them but it might make the dreads weaker. how often do you wash. 1 time a week? maybe you might wanna wash em more often like 2-3 times a week.

Please wash your dreads more than once a month! The build up of oils will hinder the knotting process and dirty dreads are just gross!
Use aloe to tame the frizzies-just slather it on your dreads. It will also strengthen, mousturize and add shine to your locks.

    What she said...

When dreads are young you should be washing more than 1x a month. Also with the aloe vera thing. Be sure it's 100% aloe vera- no chemicals.

I use aloe daily...I have super frizz too! I usually wear my hair up, lather aloe onto my hands, and then pat the frizz down with aloe covered hands. You can leave it in for a couple days till you wash. It doesnt harden up or leave a gunky residue at all. Its wonderful!

wash them at least once a week or at two weeks. Palm rolling will only make them more frizzy. Use palm rolling only for bumps or stuff like that. The frizziez will go away with time or you can crochet.

A friend of mine decided to stop washing her dreads. Now I love her to bits, but after 6 months, her dreads are getting kinda smelly and they feel greasy and dirty to the touch. I can't imagine what her scalp feels like.
Dreads are hair and your scalp is skin; both need to be washed on a regular basis to be healthy.

i wash when ever there dirty..witch is usually once every 2 days, I noticed with mine (backcombed) that because the fair was forced into dreads that some hair was coming out but it is a good thing...let your hair do what it wants and be patient. all will work out fine. the more careful you are now, the longer it will take for them to actually dread.

    peace.
