I transfered my music from my desktop, which all played perfectly, to an external hard drive. Now, as my title states, every song skips for 1-3 seconds at the end of the song, with about 5-10 seconds left.

Why is this? it is extremely annoying!!

I support this mostly. Check the cross-fade and other settings. Anything that changes the transition between songs.

What audio player are you using?

Yahhhh, but I mean, if every song scratches for the same length at the same junction in the song, it must be more than that don't you think?

My external is new. I know my internals are kind of old..

That's odd. I quoted something j700 posted and commented. Now it has my post under his name. Even the quote.

Well, when I played the songs on WMP I had that problem. When I play songs from the external to Itunes the songs play perfectly. Though I have not paid the same songs on each player.

It's most likely a problem with the player you were using. The setting must have a bug effective only on some systems.

    Itunes should be fine.

It is accessing the next item in the playlist. The hard drive cache may be either be full, or something is using a little to much system resources and it's forcing it to access later. Most music on most players is partially buffered before the end of the first song to allow for streamless music. Try setting your player up to have a 1-3 second overlap between songs and it will force the system to fade out the first one and start the next in rotation a few seconds early. It might help.
