They say your mind will do anything possible to resist death. If given the opportunity to survive, the most despicable act will come at ease. Love is thrown into the gutter, stomped on and forgotten. In less than a second, you pull yourself out from the society and morals that you spent your entire life upholding. Grovelling on the floor, betraying your family and friends, those who you hold closest to you. They are nothing. Insignificant pieces of filth, unworthy compared to you. “Take them” you will scream. And the worst part is, you aren’t lying. This isn’t honour, its instinct. At this point, your mind awakens to the fact that friendship was holding you back, a hindrance to your personal success, the enemy of survival. Death is proof that love means nothing.

That's not true, just so you know. Many people surrender to death, accept it, even sacrifice their lives to save others.

As to your writing, it's hard to judge without a context.

but how can you really know that the people who "sacrifice their lives" were actually given a choice to save others? forced death is usually a one on one situation.

And this isn't meant to exactly be true, I know that there are exceptions to every rule. It is just a critique on society in general

I don't think there's an absolute rule for this kind of thing. Declaring your loss of faith in the human race is one thing, but saying that everyone is a certain way is something else entirely. Anyway, people sacrifice their lives for others all the time. They're called firefighters.

According to Freud, people have a death instinct. Just throwing a different perspective out there.

It's difficult to say what any of us would do when faced with a life or death situation. People behave unpredictably when they're in survival mode.

As far as death proving love means nothing... I completely disagree. Love survives after death.

Certain cultures, particularly the Japanese, have developed "death before dishonour" as a widely held belief. Of course, most armies try to teach this to their soldiers, since the soldier who considers desertion a disgrace is less likely to do so. You seem to advocate dishonour before death, which is not a particularly popular position.
