It's above average, but it's not unheard of. I weighed 9 lbs 10 oz and was 24 inches long when I was born. But I was 2 weeks late. My older sister was a 9 pounder too, and she was 1 week late. I think some women just have big babies.
I know that you are supposed to just think of the joy of it, but all I can think of right now is how much that would hurt. I am sure its worth the pain, but I just couldn't imagine having a 9lbs baby. Atleast he is healthy and thats all anyone can ask.
what a gorgeous baby!! congrats you guys!! tigerlily is a real trooper, that's one big baby....my youngest was 8lbs 9oz and I thought that was big....wow, good job mama!!
my little sister was 9 lbs 14 oz.. my mom was in labor with her for 36 hours before they decided to just to a c-section
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW what a doll.!!! hes adorable!!! for the poster that posted "are babies supposed to weigh that much" it all depends on what the parents weighed my sister weighed 9lbs 12 ozs her husband weighed 10 lbs and the boys ended up weighing 8lbs 9 ozs and 9 lbs 2 ozs on another note my grandfather weighed 13 12 ozs in the olden days with no meds. if you cannot imagine pushing out a baby and doing it the easy way, by all means do so, but i think that was a irrelevant post. You would do it if you really wanted a baby regardless if it hurt or not!!
haha thanks guys, yeah that pic is great. we were at my parents' for THanksgiving and he got himself into that pose while my stepdad was holding him. i love it, he looks like a little monk
I literally have happy tears for you two! Those pictures are amazing! Sweet Kai James! Peace and love to all three of you!
Ohhh, he is just so precious! My goodness! And you look absolutely beautiful mama, you've got that new mommy glow going on.
thank you everybody i am so in love with this baby it's amazing. i never thought i could love somebody so much. and i was so nervous before i had him that we wouldn't connect right or it would take a long time to learn to love him. i'm so glad it was so instant.
Happy smiles What a gem! What a perfect little face she has. Is she really a dangerlily? I am happy for you both. Motherhood is magical!
it's non-stop it feels like... Kai's kind of a grazer so for half the day he's eating every hour but he sleeps long stretches sometimes... well long being 4 hrs. i'm trying to pump as well as breastfeed for Charles to feed him sometimes or when I take him to my parents' (we actually went to Olive Garden last night and left Kai with my parents) but pumping is hard when the long stretches of not eating are at night when i want to sleep... or when i'm trying to clean or shop for xmas presents or something... my brain is also not altogether there. BUT it is so worth it... and thank goodness Charles can help out so much.
