ive been toying with getting dreads for a long time now, and recently decided that i'd back comb some what close to new years and dreads will be part of the resolution(theres waaaaaaay more to it, but im not going to to type all of that out at the present moment in time) so last night i met 2 random people with dreads that told me i should do it, and if thats not enough, today i was walking into work from the parking lot and there was a pretty strong wind, and a piece of cloth got stuck on my leg from the wind, so i pick it off, you know what it is?! its a freaking bob marely bandanna that says freedom in huge letters and has a big silhouette of bob marely and his amazing dreads. i was like dear christ its a sign! so yea... pretty excited! so excited that i already have a few few day old dreads freshly backcombed in the back of my head
I had a dream I was starting dreads the other day, but it was only a dream. I can't shirk off babylon enough to change my hair. The bandanna thing sounds awesome.
Hey I've got a story like this! Like a year and a couple of months ago, before I started dreading, I was always on a mission to find like, the right products that were gonna help me get started.. Residue-free shampoos, and the right advice and shit was for the most part pretty hard to come by, so I wasn't sure... I literally went looking in all the shops and pharmacies for the right kinda stuff, and everyone just looked at me like I was crazy.. So one day a buddy and I had to go do this market research thing, in a dodgy little part of Cape Town, and BOOM. Right opposite the building the thing was in I see a big Irie flag with the Lion of Judah walking proudly across it. Walked up the the window and see the shampoos, and all the other products, it was amazing. Then I knew. A while after that I went back and met the awesome people (the shop was closed at the time) who run the business. A Rasta family obviously with long history with dreadlocks and the whole culture. I still see them to this day. They both have waist length Marley locks, radical. anyway yeah dude go for it, lock em up, you wont regret it :sifone:
