Hey Guys, I've had it in the back of my mind for a while now that I'd quite like to come over to America and travel around for a bit (a few years).

I guess what I have in mind is traveling in the back country (I don't like cities much) catching a ride when I can, sleeping outside, heading towards any sort of gathering there might be and generally having a good time.

Obviously the way I've written it sounds all lovely and idealic but I am aware that traveling like this can be really shit some of the time (maybe a lot of the time?) but I still really fancy doing it?

So what do you guys think about this? How tough do you think it'd be?
(These questions are aimed at people who live in the US or have traveled there, hence being in the USA forum)

I did it for a few years and found it to be hell at various times with some life-long lasting consequences. I also found it to be freeing and very eye opening.
All I can say is have an exit plan. Don't get yourself into anything from which you can't get out of, and never ever convince yourself that you're stuck.
Besides that I'd recommend setting aside bail money. Cops love travelers.
