i've done enough research and feel comfortable that i can do this responsibly, so don't criticize me on my choice to inject drugs.

but i'm getting liquid ketamine soon, and want to take it IM. can i get clean needles from a regular pharmacy (i know it's sketchy)? if not then i'll just convert the liquid to powder and snort it, but if it's relatively easy to get needles then i'd rather do that.

edit: i only said "IM" because i'm not sure if that makes a difference in the needle i get... don't think it does but does anyone know for sure?

i know in mass you can go to the pharmacy and cop needles for IV but IM pins i think are alot longer. if you go into a pharmacy and sound like you dont know what your talkin about they wont sell them 2 you. its the pharmacists descresion (sp)? 2 sell 2 you or not

yep. generally for water soluble substances the gauge doesn't matter, but the length does. shooting im requires a longer needle, typically 1 to 1.5 inches depending on injection site. any pharmacy can be expected to have slin pins but one may have too look harder for others. they can be bought online.

The gauge is the length of the needle... the bigger the gauge the smaller the length of the needle. 31 guage is 5/16 of an inch and 27 gauge is 5/8th of an inch. You probably want bigger than that as frameshift said an inch would probably be fine.

Figure out how big the needle has to be to get the shot you want (how many mLs). 1 ml is 1CC. When you got to the pharmacy just say you need a pack of 1cc (or whatever size you need) insulin syringes, and I'm pretty sure (i've never done it cause i just IV) you can ask for long needles. When they bring them check the pack it will say the gauge and under that it will give you the actualy length of the needle. One time I went they actually asked me if I wanted long or short.

I live in Mass also and it is law here that they have to sell them to you as long as your 18, so when you go into the pharmacy dont be worried about that. Just know you're gonna go in and come out with needles and yeah it might be a little uncomfortable but in the end who gives a fuck?

I also live in MA and I do not condone this but this junkie I knew and his friends would just go to CVS tell them they had diabetes and the pharmacy people would sell them needles, just ask the pharm techs not the pharmacists.

i live in mass as well.i seen a guy trying to get needles at cys one night.you could tell he was a junkie.they wouldnt sell them to him.he kept saying he needed them for his mother cuz she had diabetes.the parmacist looked at me and asked if i was thinking the same as her.i was fucking stoned off my ass picking up my klonopins that night

but for advice all i can say from being a witness is dont act nervous, dont go high,be SOBER!!dont be all jittery or shifty eyed either.just be straight forward with you need them for your insulin.

for some reason i remember a law being passed or something that makes it legal for junkies to obtain clean needles.i think you go to the hospital and trade your used needles for clean ones.i dont know how you would find that out though????
