hey, i have very greasy skin and i get black heads and spots easily, i never use chemicals on my skin, any natural remedies for this? Thanks! blessings xxx
I remember when I was younger a friend of mine used to mix natural honey and oatmeal and place very small amounts on the needed areas of her face. Then she washed it off after a little while. From what I remember it worked. I don't get many breakouts and I think it has to do with the way I need. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I stay away from fried and greasy foods. My sister gets breakouts all the time and eats not-so-good food. I'm not a doctor, but since my sister is blood related to me and eats a different diet leads me to believe that acne/breakouts are related to diet.
Indeed - first thing I look at when someone says they have skin problems is their diet. How's yours? Other than that, try washing with a couple of drops of tea tree essential oil in some warm water.
thanks guys yh i agree diet is very important, I cook most of my food, i am a vegan, eat alot of organic foor but i use olive oil alot so maybe thats the problem. xxx
Yep, excessive oil, even a healthy one like olive oil, can saturate the skin.. try cutting that down, or switching to a polyunsaturate (hemp seed oil is FANTASTIC, has omega-3, -6, and -9, essential for just about everything).
hi i personally dont have a greasy skin but my mom has it and she's always been into "only natural" beauty stuff.. first of all i must say that greasy skin is better in a way, because you won't get wrinkles as much and as easy as people with dry skin what my mom did and do is to use only rosewater to clean her skin..i dont know if you know where to buy rosewater but if you can't find it anywhere else, you could look in eastern grocery stores (persian stores for example)..it's all natural and you just use it as any facecleaning product on a piece of cotton. another thing that helps against spots and black heads is just simple fruit.. almost whatever fruit (and some vegtables) you eat..just put a little on your whole face and let it dry..then wash it off with water. things I tried and liked are for example plums, grapes, cucumber, tomatoes, and honeydrew seeds(?) (you know the stuff inside the melon).. each fruit is good for something so you have to see what fits your skin.. myself i feel that tomatoes are the best for my skin but my mom prefer cucumber.. just dont try any "acidy" fruits like oranges and stuff like that..not so sure about apples either hope this helps alittle. peace
wow thanks so much! i will refer to your post as a guide! excellent, great tip about the fruit, and yh im like your mum, all about the natural beaut stuff blessings xxx
hemp oil... sounds brilliant, i will look out for it why doesnt everyone catch onto hemp? blessings xxx
Because the petrochemical companies (DuPont etc) along with their political stooges have fostered the idea in everyone's heads that hemp = marijuana = A BAD THING. A few of us know better, but still very few..
i use these little sheets that you can buy at the drug store. Clean & Clear makes them, and they're pretty cheap. I just run them across the oily parts of my face (like my nose and hairline) about midway through the day, and that has reduced the amount of blemishes i get greatly.
ha very true, but then we all know the ones at the top are the idiots, most of them anyway. i should get some more hemp clothing sometime. thanks again xxx
ah yes ive heard of those, ill try them soon. by the way, love your nose ring, thinking of getting my left nostril pierced at some point. recommend it? xxx
absolutely. It is my favorite thing about my face. i have a stud in now, but in two fridays i will have a ring once more. dooooo it.
haha excellent i would like to get it done somewhere special, like glastonbury town maybe. you look great with it, amazing eyes too! xxx
In my experience, I have found using Witch Hazel on a cotton ball works great to reduce oily skin. Also you can put it in a small spray bottle with some distilled water and spray it on your face/neck during the day to keep the oil down and refresh the skin. Great for the hot daze of summer. It tones the skin. Be sure to get the kind without alcohol in it. Diet is also a factor. I have written a piece on the health of the skin, in the Free School 'You Are What You Eat' forum in the thread called Eat Your Way To Better Skin. You may want to check it out also.
