definiton of "stoner"

to me, i think that a stoner is anyone who revolves any aspects of their own lives, around the purchasing of, the selling of, the consumption of, or anything related to marijuana.. i think being a stoner is when marijuana becomes a part of who you are..

any thoughts fellow stoners?

I agree with Duck. Being a stoner just means that you enjoy marijuana but that it doens't have a major impact on the other aspects of your life.

The OP's definition of stoner is more my definition of a pothead. I think a stoner becomes a pothead when they design their life or makes major accomodations for pot. For example, a stoner enjoys a bowl while they're watching a movie after all their work is done. A pothead runs out on his break to smoke. A pothead has likely gotten in professional/legal/familial trouble for pot or "lost" something important in their life due to pot.

Anyway, thats just my 2 cents. I consider myself a stoner, but I would be slightly offended if people reffered to me as a pothead.

I always used pothead as 'bad stoner'.
Like, someone who's cheap as hell with their weed, or someone who absolutely needs to be high all the time.

 

a stoner is not someone who smokes pot, its not someone who likes smoking pot.

a stoner is someone who is stoned A LOT! lol someone that u remember being stoned more than being sober= a stoner

 

I was bored so I looked it up on Urban Dictionary, and there was a ton of definitions, most of them said something like "a peaceful person that is stoned a lot and harmless"

i find it funny that you stoners have a concept for 'pothead' but deny that weed can be addictive

to me: stoner = someone who smokes weed more than once a week & has their own stash (someone who never has their own stash cant really be called a stoner)

pothead = marijuana is primary aspect of lifestyle / marijuana addict.

 

People that deny that ignore the crap out of me.
I think it is detrimental to weed's acceptance as it shows users as blind loyalists.

 

Someone who blazes every day or who loves weed. I'm a stoner and proud of it. Never be ashamed of your beliefs and values.

 

Weed is addictive. I think the whole "its not addictive" mindset came in response to the fact that most Americans think addiction means heroin junkie type withdrawls. But, yes, MJ is habit forming.

 

Why would you be proud of being a stoner? Serious question by the way.

 

stoner as a word has purely negative connotations, i wouldn't like to be known as one.

this is like when nerds argue about nerd and geek and shit, to them each one has a different meaning, to normal people they all mean the same. there isn't a difference between pothead and stoner to the average person.

 

Maybe this question isn't for the average person. For an example, the average person doesn't see difference in black and death metal neither, but the people that are into it know there definately is.

 

Because I'm proud of who I am and of my beliefs and values. Why wouldn't I be proud to be a stoner? Because someone disapproves? Live for yourself, you're the only one worth living for.

If anyone says I should be ashamed because i enjoy cannabis then they can fuck off and drink themselves to death.

Well, there's something between being ashamed of something and being proud of it. And also between being a stoner and living for yourself. But I see you're saying your proud of yourself and your beliefs and values. I can understand that, but does all your beliefs and values match the stoner mindset (as far as their is one)?
I mean you aren't purely proud on smoking daily and because your love of weed I assume. Or is it the choice that brought you that smoking cannabis isn't wrong that makes you proud that you have made that choice?
