funny how the last recession was in 2001 and ended right after the bombings of the twin towers. I was selling cars then and right after that all the interest rates went to 0% and we sold the most cars ever in 1 month for the dealership which had been there for 75 years. Nothing like a catastophe to boost the economy.

Yes it makes no sense to consider

Unemployment benefits running out before a person found a job
    Welfare applications increasing
    Credit debt mounting
    Bankruptcy increasing
    Forclosure and repos increasing
Companies cutting jobs to keep same level of profits
Companies cutting productions of goods from lack of demands
Charities dealing with greater demand but less support
    More homeless

No none of that is a measure of our economic state.

Exactly and so did other wars and events boost other times on that table. Scared to think what would be allowed or created to create another boost??

US National Debt: over 10 trillion (and increasing)

    That's $35,000 for every person.

    Boost the economy with what?.........

While still paying for 2 wars ongoing. I used to know the amount being spent daily but cant remember it and the foreclosures, oh the foreclosures. Where I live, they are everywhere and most of it was caused by refinancing. People taking 50 grand out of their house to live the life of the rich and famous..thinking their equity is always going to grow. Getting an adjustable mortgage on the refinance, then it adjust and bamm, too much to handle. Foolish. I have a friend/work associate who bought a house a few years back for 900k and now that same house is worth 280k and still going down.

I'm thinking something similar to Japan, where they lowered the interest rate to 0% for years. I think this will take years to work itself out everything is so screwed up.
