I'm having a damn debate with some people

and they keep telling me that LSD is addictive, ruins your life and other people's lives, and has no use. they don't seem to understand its power and beauty and the spirituality.

would you guys, experienced LSD users, care to help?

these are people who need examples of proof to the opposite of their ideas about it. tell them about how long Albert Hofmann lived...about how incredibly high the LD50 is...i think i read on erowid that the only documented case of a fatal overdose was 320 000 micrograms administered intravenously...that's like 6000 times the average dose you'll come across. supposedly the double helix was discovered by a scientist on a threshold dose. not to mention all the amazing art that's come out of it in all its different areas. just some of the ways lsd has contributed to humankind..then draw a parallel..what's coke ever done?

As for a reply-by-reply conversation, I'm not interested, as they clearly have no idea what they're talking about, so it would just be a long session of facepalming and giving them an LSD 101 education which they could have gotten had they spent an hour browding this site or erowid or even youtube documentaries on lsd

 

They're not talking about ODing, or that it kills you, just that it ruins their lives. But I'm definatley doing to throw in Hoffman, Leary, Alex Grey. Whats th LD50? heard of it. eh, I'll google it.

This was a discussion about straight edge, fyi. I brought up the fact that LSD is amazing, it makes your life so much better, and that it's a shame to shun it.

EDIT: oh oh oh yeah, I remember, the LD50 is what dosage causes half of the animals given the LSD to die.

I'm trying to nitpick things out of your article. they're going to twist that and misinterpet so much of that. especially the part about jumping out of windows. But I'm definatley going ot show some of that. thanks

LSD id good. LSD is bad.

It can send you on a new and better path or can lead you down a bad path. Or both.

One dose will open your eyes. After that it should be used carefully.

Myself and others on this forum have admitted they have abused this drug.

LSD is not physically addictive. LSD is mentally addictive to some. If you are looking for ultimate insight to life and into yourself it is easy to get addicted when you feel that you are so close to understanding and your sure one more dose or an extra couple of tabs will get you there. You just have to remember that LSD is the question not the answer.

I dont think at this stage in my life i can take anything else from LSD. Any more use and i believe it will detract from the quality of my life, as it may have started to in the last few trips.

LSD is both sides of the coin.

You are right. The people you are debating with are also right, in a way.

That being said. I love LSD. I am thankful it is a part of my life. It helped me learn to just be. And that is the greatest gift in the world. some people don't get it though.

Let them believe what they want to believe. It's very, very hard to persuade a person who has a closed mind toward drugs to have an open mind. That sort of thing takes years. Either you're interested in unlocking the potential of your own subconscious, or you're not. More fool them. It's not worth the time it takes to argue it out.

Well if they are twisting and misinterpreting things then there's no hope, is there? I mean I could post the most amazing story of salvation with not one iota of bad in it, and they would twist and misinterpret it to somehow prove their point . . .

Don't debate people who are intellectually dishonest. When they are ready to really discuss LSD and drug use in general, then you can take them seriously. Until then it's just a dick measuring contest on who can twist each others words more skillfully.

well i always compare it with shrooms... so if theyve tried shrooms just say its the same head high except cleaner.... like on shrooms u usualy forget alotta things so when u re-realize them they seem to be spiritual or "WOW" but on lsd u dont have that memory loss... its just a clean... head high if shrooms? nvm... lol

 

lsd is non-toxic and non-addictive substance. lsd has powerfully strong mind altering effects but as long as you have a healthy mind your lsd trip will be a quite beautiful and an enlightening experience.
