lol system and rage are in two different subgenres of music, each with their own distinctive sound and style.. rage are more cheesy rock riffs with overtones of rap; system are more cheesy metal riffs with crazed yet fresh singing. the only compromise is the lyrical relativity. so, musically, are you asking for a list of bands that sound like rage and a seperate list of bands that sound like system, or are you after a list of bands which sound like a hybrid of both?!

serj tankian's solo stuff isn't too bad; especially the unthinking majority and lie lie lie.

seems like lyrically you're after stuff which displays no taste for hypocrisy and an anti-governmental theme.

can't really help you.. as i take sanction in psytrance which, if you're in to the scene, will do more for you on all levels in this respect.

"as i take sanction in psytrance which, if you're in to the scene, will do more for you on all levels in this respect."

any genre of music where I can count the time signature without even paying attention is not music but organized noise.

On all levels? Where is the meaning in the songs? Where is the complex music theory? Where are the musicians? A DJ is not a musician, hes a musical effects artist. All psytrance does is give these "candykids" mindless music to desensitize them even more from all the drugs they ignorantly swallow looking for "a good time". You have no idea buddy, but please. Keep listening to this "psytrance" the music that is suppose to be the best really is quite the opposite.

Let's weigh in the factors here. You say:

    "rage are more cheesy rock riffs with overtones of rap;
system are more cheesy metal riffs with crazed yet fresh singing."

first of all I won't get started on some serious grammer issues, but your unability to notice music over crap. Cheesy? At least its music. Sorry, I've had better and more everlasting epiphanies from listening to songs like Science and Know your Enemy than to listen to the same sound over and over and over and over and over.

I believe you and I have had this discussion before but you fail to realize how pathetic psytrance is, or trance, techno, or techno trance bull shit.

ya i didnt really get what he meant by cheesy rock and metal rifffs? and techno is for pussys. even though its sounds trippy when on acid.

Cool, Leingod. Well this post is gonna be a tad off topic but relevant nonetheless. Thing is, see - I have been into those bands for a very long time through teenage. I am a multi competent musician playing drums, guitar, bass and keyboard - and have done for many years. I've written songs with bands, and produced a lot of solo material on synthesizers and guitars. The meanings you absorb from the music you've mentioned is how I used to express myself; by creating music and writing material. I have a CD collection with a hell of a lot of the bands you've listed in another thread..
Thing is, I couldn't keep on listening to that kind of music. Most of the bands just got worse and worse with new material. That kind of music just wasn't working for me. I like my metal, but none of the mainly mainstream stuff you seem to be into. Heard of Necrophagist? Vader? Dry Kill Logic? Estuary?
Along with playing instruments, I've been into mixing and sound editing using computer software since 2005. I'm having a shot at making my own psytrance. I love psychedelic music in general and if you open your mind a bit you'll understand not everything needs words to have a meaning. Im not going into a huge passage on psytrance but creating it is a complex and time consuming process and it's something I enjoy; along with the scene that comes with it - so why shouldn't I continue? Do I sound like I'm suffering or fucking deprived because I stopped listen to System of a Down?
PsyTrance is preference, I know a fair few people don't understand it; and that's fair enough. I'm not trying to force feed what I like down people's throats.. I simply stated what I like.. and then I've got you jumping on the bandwagon in a controlled and well thought out manner, blasting me on one simple line of text, and then taking it a step further by going another step off topic and highlighting and patronising various points of my grammatical imperfections.
But don't worry fella, I'll continue listening to the many forms of psytrance and psychedelic music (ozric tentacles, noden ictus), and if that has me down as a 'candykid' in your eyes, then oh well - I'll live.
Hey; keep on listening to same old!
If it works for you then nice one.

Im not sure if any of that was directed at me, but i was not trying to diss u or anything. but i am getting bored of this music that is why i am asking for other bands. the reason i like this kind of music is because it has passion. not just a bunch of sounds. but i respect your thoughts and your post. you cant change what u like. ive gone through many stages like linkin park and shit.. and i have heard of Necrophagist but dont like death metal. some ok shit like arch enemy and stuff isnt bad. as long as it has good guitar and you can usually hear what their saying.
but as long as u still listen listen to the good classics then its all good.
    peace out and keep rockin..

    No.
It was a response to Leingod's patronising attempt to make me look like an idiot.
Jaren420; of course you can think techno is for pussies. I wasn't retaliating against that. I don't really listen to techno. Although I do like a bit of Aphex Twin for the sheer warped themes of his tunes, I couldn't care less if people think that techno is for pussies. Most of the music I listen to wasn't intended for the popular mind, so how can I expect people who take it upon themselves to shower others with shit (because their musical taste differs) to understand?
Hmmm Arch Enemy aren't bad (especially Wages of Sin); fair play to Angela Gossow for sounding more brutal than the vocals in most big 'metal' bands of today. I like Children of Bodom too; I suppose they're a bit more media friendly than the other stuff in my music library (i.e. The Berzerker, Morbid Angel, Zyklon). I don't just listen to the classics mate; I can play most of them.. and not just on a single instrument!
But hell, to each is own. A line Leingod doesn't seem to understand. From this single thread to the majority of his posts on the hipforums, he goes out of his way to get the ego peppered point across that he IS better than you. If you type something which doesn't match up to his perception on the subject, then my god - you will know about it.

Well if you like System of a down you'll probably like other shitty bands like Disturbed, Korn and Limp Bizkit.
