I have been in and out of hospital a few times this year for various reasons and I have to say hospital coffee is the most foul concoction I’ve ever tasted.

I’m not sure whether it’s meant to keep you awake, or make you glad you don’t have to stay there, or whether it’s intended to make you leave as soon as you can. Perhaps it’s just supposed to make you feel as bad as the person you’re there to visit, or maybe the aim of making such terrible coffee would be to increase the hospital’s income by providing a steady stream of new patients.

I’ve decided to plan a study to find out. Care to be my subjects?

Question: Rate the beverage’s appearance on the following scale of one to five, with one being ‘Dishwater’ and five being ‘Sludge’.

Please take your time thinking about this; we’d like a considered opinion.

My take: I think I’ll have to go for a ‘four’, which I believe would be ‘Muddy water’. Although the potential for ‘Sludge’ is quite high. Ten minutes of cold air should do the trick.

I work in a hospital,I have an idea for you.Ring the nurses station and ask them for a cup of coffee.Ask them if you can have a cup of their coffee...
We make our own at the nurses station. And it is a hell of alot better, never old,we drink it pretty damn fast.I hope you feel better soon...:)

    What can I say?
My mother hates any other coffee made by someone else, usually. When we are on holidays, the hotels' restaurants serve a much too weak coffee. Dad makes a stupidly weak coffee for her too, but he has good intentions... Coffee is the best only at home and sometimes only if you make it yourself.
But most likely hospitals or hotels don't even care if people like their coffee or not...

I have to say that hospital coffee is indeed fucking awful. But not nearly as awful as aeroplane coffee. Yeuch.

Also any tea made by Americans is.. wrong. You just can't get it right :p

I'm sort of an any coffee is good coffee type...like it might not be good- but it's better then no coffee...

like oral sex. there is some that is actually kind of unenjoyable- but somehow it still is good cause it's oral sex. Even the bad is a little good...Oviously prefer the good...

the organic fairtrade really awesome tasteing roast with hazlenut or vanillla *swoon*
but I can't complain about it if it's not...

that is how I feel about hospital coffee.

Starbucks is at my hospital. A whole cafe.

Come to think of it, Starbucks is everywhere. They were even giving out free coffee on election day in the U.S. Some of the local news stations were in on it too, doing product placement for Starbucks disguised as election news (mentioning Starbucks in the report about 6 times).

Sure it was coffee? It could have been bed pan residue.

im not that big of a coffee drinker, but i drink it occasionally, i like church hill's coffee. mmmmmm. :)

on the whole hospital coffee, it always tastes really bad, but somehow makes me feel like im on speed, i remember drinking it waiting for my neice to pop out, and damn, i was running all around the halls just bouncing right off of them,
