Bad Trips on Salvia

Are there frequent occurences of bad trips from salvia, like there are with acid or shrooms? If so, how extreme are they?

 

Almost everytime i tried salvia i had a bad trip. I bought salvia 10x and it kicked my ass. I think salvia is way more intense than acid.

 

I went into a bad trip too. The good thing about salvia is, if you get freaked out, it only lasts 10 minutes, and after you're sober again, you look back and realize how awesome it was.

The discomfort of a bad trip is always there.

But in order to have a good trip, you must learn to live with the bad things about the trip.

My first trip was HORRIBLE. I mean, I actually thought I was going to die, and didn't want to try ANY drug EVER again (for a few hours or so after the trip).

But on my later trips, I learned to "let go" and "go with the flow," and I had good trips afterwards because I didn't try to control the trip; rather, I let it control me.

Either way, salvia seems to have frequent bad trips; even more so than mushrooms and LSD, at least to my understanding. And I can see why. However, I also believe that once this "bad trip essence" is overcome, the good aspects of the trip are more than worth the bad trips.

 

salvia always gives me an uncomfortable trip, but some times I like that. A bad trip on salvia though is nothing to worry about though cause its only like 5 minutes compared to shrooms and acid which are 4 hours and 10-12 hours.

 

Aye. Bad trips, although ferociously terrible, aren't THAT bad, because they last 20 minutes at the MOST (unless you are preparing salvia as a drink or equivalent, which you ought not to do unless you are a VERY experienced psychonaut or Mazatecan indian!).

 

bad trips are people unexpecting the body load i think. i had a bad "time" everytime i tried it alone. while on aMT is was like DMT though......HARDCORE! and very very fun.

10x standardized would be stronger than acid (for about 2min)


i didnt even know you could make a ea and tryp like that for a long time, how long would like 1 gram of 5x boiled into a tea and consumed by one person last? would it hit you the same? would it build up? please elaborate on that methode of consumption, i am interested.

 

Truthfully, I can't tell you much more about the drinking method, because I'm unfamiliar with it. I'm not sure if you can even find any recipes online (as I've looked for them before), because the drinks have really only ever been used by the Mazatecan indians, in mass-trip groups. If you're really interested, I suggest you get a copy of one of Dr. Shollgen's books on salvinorin-A; he has likely tried the drink before, and if I am not mistaken, he's also insufflated it (snorted) and injected it.

But, I won't tell you anything else I know about the drink, because the extent of my knowledge of the drink is VERY limited and I don't want to accidentally give you wrong information because of my ignorance. I just suggest you check it out yourself.

 

I never have a bad trip on anything, because I just go with the drug.

But I do have a question. For those of you that have done salvia, when you trip, do you feel like there are sharp things sticking into you. It doesn't hurt in any way and really isn't uncomfortable at all. But every time I've done salvia, it feels like a bunch of pins are sticking into my body. I feel them on the inside of my arms, legs and throat. Since I've had this same sensation every time, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

 

Sorry ... can't say I've had that feeling. I know of someone else who every time he has an experience it revolves around very small dwarves that work in a factory ... but other than you and he, I've never heard of someone who has the same sensation on every trip, and I've never had any pins and needles-like effect.

 

ive had a few bad trips, though anytime i do it i have to think about it pretty hard before hand because i really dislike a good part of the physical sensation. bad trips are still worth it with salvia IMO cause you can always tell yourself that it will be over in 10 minutes.
the main thing that bothes me, it gets less bothersome each time, but my body temperature feels like it jumps to like 120º after inhalation. i also understand what the poster said about a sharpness that doesnt really hurt... almost like a pins&needles feeling after your foot fals asleep.
one of the first times i did it and didnt know how to control it better/what to expect, i had decided to have music on. i like experimental shit, this was a cd by mauthausen orchestra that started with a low bassy oscillating throbbing sound. that was alright but then extremely high pitched tones which i forgot about came into the song shortly after it began and it felt like i was literally being sliced with razor blades. i got up off the bed to turn it off and every step i took it felt like be skin was being slit millions of times, like i was walking through razors.. went away after a bit off silence. needless to say that was not fun.

I definetly know what you mean with the pins and needles thing. For me, salvia gave me an intense body high, aside from its effects on my mind.

 

Hmm ... this is the first I've heard of the pins and needles thing.

Well, off to do some more research! (laughs) There is no such thing as too much research with salvia divinorum; you learn new things about it every time you embark on that quest!

 

It's actually more of a strong, tingly feeling throughout your body...

 

I like salvia... She's yet to give me a bad trip. You just have to go with the flow...

 

It's interesting to hear that similar things happen. I guess it depends on the person. Salvia is quite a drug.

 

there used to be this dude who got 15-20x out of his leaves or whatever, and as soon as you exhaled you wouldnt have a chance of controlling anything.

my friend took one hit out of a bowl, and seconds later was laughing and drooling pointing at a garage door. then he got all scared and ran into a car, bounced off and ran head first into a ladder that was hanging on the wall and fell back. it was honestly the scariest thing ive ever seen involving drugs in my life. it took him about 15 minutes to be able to speak coherently and not drool all over himself.

he said the garage door transformed into a mouth and was chewing everyone around up and something about wheel of fortune music with the words wheel of death being chanted and everyone around was holding up tiles of letters similar to the ones in wheel of fortune.

it was a crazy experience and i wasnt even the one that smoked it that time

 

I have to say my opinion of salvia is in no way shape or form fun, yet this does not mean it isn't a great experience. Ive found that Im usually having the best time right after a trip when Im trying to figure out what the hell I just saw. My favorite trip was when my entire vision turned into a birthday cake that a chef was slicing up, that was probably the most interesting one Ive had.
