at least for a while, or at least mostly. maybe eat meat one meal a week or something.

i remember in the past when i've stopped eating meat, after a week or two i had a lot more energy than i had before, and i felt great.

i've been feeling sleepy and mentally cloudy a LOT lately, and i think severely restricting my meat intake may help me a lot with this.

Go for it.. I cut out meat and unhealthy snacks and lost about 30 pounds. No more exercise than I did before, no big fad diet, just cutting out meat and crappy snacks (most of which had meat in) made me lose a ton of weight.

Go for it! The worst that could happen is that you realize you miss meat too much, and you go back to being an omnivore. You can't really lose here.

I say this as a failed vegetarian.

    no, but you may.

if your talking about the original two posts, then losing weight is not at all a main reason for no longer eating meat, a desire for healthier eating and more energy is.

since you're a vegetarian already, the only thing you'd cut out by going vegan would be to stop consuming dairy. depending on which dairy products you normally take in and in what volume, cutting them out of your diet may or may not help you lose weight. for instance, yogurt is very good for you. butter, ice cream, and cheese are not very good for you, though cheese is alright in moderation. but if you mostly get dairy from fresh milk and yogurt, and you cut dairy out of your diet, you aren't likely to lose much weight as a direct result of it.

eating meat, on its own, really isnt that bad for you. but i find in the cases where i've stopped eating it for a while i always got a lot more energy and generally felt better. but in terms of weight loss, you have to take into consideration the type of meat eaten and prepared, and how much of the diet is dependant on it normally. for me the biggest issue with meat is that i often have it fried. fried chicken, hamburgers cooked on a griddle instead of on a grill, and so on. this kind of food is very unhealthy, and cutting it out of my diet likely WILL help me loose some weight.

I lost weight too fast as a vegan....there weren't enough nuts and oils in the world to keep me at a stable body weight so I took up brie and ribs..mmmmmm.

    your life man

most people lose weight when they go veggie because they don't understand the huge amount of calories they no longer put into their body. its nothing magical about what you are eating...your just eating less

    i know this.

and like i said, i may more likely just seriously limit the quantity of meat i eat. as in one meal a week including meat or something.

If you keep eating dairy, you won't lose much, if at all.

I did for 4 months myself but broke after that because my craving for chicken became unbearable..

    +You'll never be really full.
