So i just recently had one of my friends over and she wrapped a few of my smaller dreads together to make bigger ones. is that a good way of going about it?
    if not what is?

and if so how long should i keep them wrapped?

Yeah I've done this to some thin dreads. If they're locked hard already, they're not really gonna lock together, perhaps a bit. But they will start locking closer to the root after a while, then the dread just grows out as one. It works....kinda :)

Also another thing about doing it is that the wrapped dreads will be harder to dry, and can tend to stay wet for long periods, which is generally a bad thing - so just watch out for that.

    Otherwise happy wrapping :D

yea i blow dryed the ones that were wrapped...i would hate to get mildew in my dread!

ill leave them in for like a month and then unwrap and see the progress, as long as they start to connect at the base then i can just let them grow together.

I'm just using a hair band, like a normal ponytail tie thingie, but its like a biiig one, so it can wrap like 10 times or sumthing.

and buttrfly)i( - yeah they will start to join at the base as new hair grows. then u get fork dreads :) ive got this thick, kinda flat one that forks out into three at the end, i love it

I used embroidery thread, or any other kind of thread. some, I had someone wrap for me, others I just tied together with the thread. seems to be working fine.

What's the wrap done with? If it's wool, I wouldn't leave it in for more than two weeks or so. I know for myself, that's the point when my hair starts to eat wraps and they get trickier to remove.
