I think with the release of android they have shown us what they can do when it comes to an os, and in terms of developing for android or chrome its pretty easy and fun. Google gears is great. And with how great all there online apps are once all that is combined it will be amazing.

I have never like Explorer and got rid of it, well, didnt get rid of it because I think that is impossible, but just dont use it. I first started with Netscape and it was great for about a year, then problems started to develop. I then tried Opera, and another I cant remember at the moment, and Firefox, and found Firefox to be the best by far. I have been running Firefox 2 for a couple of years now. I tried Firefox 3 and it was like a browser for the blind, everything was so huge. I contacted them about this and they had a fix for it, but it was like you had to be a computer programmer to fix it by typing in all this stuff in the appropriate spaces. I then asked if it was possibe to run both Firefox 2 and 3, and it was, you just had to do a small program fix. This was easier than fixing 3 alltogether, and the hugeness of Firefox 3 works well with some websites, but on most occasions I am running Firefox 2. I had to stop the updates for 2 though, as the last one totally made the browser go away. Some kind of conflict in the update caused many problems. But I am totally satisfied with Firefox 2.

Its a total crock compared to firefox. There is no real security and its just a beta phase browser with alpha phase features - cool if youre 9 years old and must have every peice of rubbish the internet throws at you, but terrible if you want security, stability, and features

Explain what you are stating j700, because I happen to know for a fact that for such a beta release, it is pretty stable. The securty while not great is there and is pretty reliable and to ignore a browser realease from one of the largest tech companies would simply be ignorance.

beta is by definition a testing phase and means that stability, reliability, and security are hypothetical and not to be trusted. The fact that chrome appeared at all is something of a joke. Given that its main security feature is that it opens a seperate process for each instance, I dont think I will be recommending to businesses that they swap over from firefox just yet. Where is adblock and noscript for chrome? Oh yeah hang on I just found the instructions on google chrome - stand on one leg, pull your bottom lip up over your head like a bathing cap then type activatex145562 then click your fingers three times - nah its just old hat befrore it was even released. It takes up too much memory, it has no security that can easily be applied and, when it is applied, it's weak.
Oh like the trash microsoft expect people to use, you mean ?? hmmmm they dont come bigger than Microsoft do they ? Ohhhhh hang on no you mean the mac one safari, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh deary me deary me - no there really isnt anything quite as secure and adaptable as firefox

Chrome is a pretty decent browswer, and google already owns my email, calendar, documents, search......so it's not like they'd be learning anything more about me if it does do more spying that we would like.

but, the reason google made it was to improve browsers overall, they still strongly support the mozilla foundation.

their main improvement is each tab being it's own process, meaning an error or crash in one tab doesn't effect others, and it cuts down on possibilities for cross site scripting attacks.

putting it out like they did gives mozilla a model that can use to improve firefox even more.

two negative things about chrome which keep me from using it: no RSS feed support that I can find, and the lack of extension support.

So, it's fun to play with, but I'm sticking with firefox
