yeah, people make fake dreads out of various materials...and put them in their hair...but it looks quite unnatural, especially when they're neon.

Just do it the way that feels best for you.
i would recomment not to put anything in your dreads
and wash them (but not too much ofcourse.. like once or twice a week with shampoo)

    this was a shop clerk?
Take your money and your energy elsewhere.

But I still have advice even though my dreads served their purpose and I'm "between sets" as I will dread again, when my spirit needs them.

damn... reading these posts... people are really nervy.

    1. don't give advice unless asked first.
    2. don't give advice about things you really know nothing about.

to bad this isn't general knowledge.

I find it quite funny how people have misconceptions just because they heard it on t.v, like its on t.v so it must be true.

I heard one story at a festival about some guy saying do you realy put cow crap in your hair to make it dread, he just said yeah in a sarcastic way

yeah somebody asked if me if you really had to throw dirt in your hair to keep it dreaded...? and people come up to me all the time and ask "is it hard to keep your dreads?" and "for how long do you have to braid/twist those things every night?"

1.When are you going to get them re-dreaded?
2.How come they are not done yet?
3.Do you have to use coca-cola and roll around in dirt to get those?
    4.Is that your real hair?
    5.How do you wash that?
6.How do you get your hair "Like That"?
7.When are you going to fix them?
8.How come you dont burn them?
9.You need to use wax or something to hold them
    10. Why doesnt your hair look like a rasta?

lol ive been asked these questions, some multiple times, some once lol I always find it humorus the first time then when the same people ask me the same question again I get pretty annoyed
